Outsmarting the Order of Erudition
·
Published 5/31/2023When five brave college friends, Scarlett, Ember, Violet, Olivia, and Rachel, embark on an adventurous journey to Brazil to uncover the secrets of the powerful and corrupt Order of Erudition and its unethical impact on the modern education system, they must confront danger, discover their inner courage and strength, and uncover the truth about themselves.

The cramped room was filled with a green light, the only source of illumination. The five girls sat on the floor in silence.
"Are you sure this is the place?"
"Yes. The coordinates match."
"Are you sure it's safe here?"
"Yes." Rachel replied to Ember's question, "We checked for cameras and bugs when we arrived - there are none. We're safe for now."
Ember sighed as she leaned backward against the wall behind them. She noticed Violet doing the same thing beside her, then glanced at Olivia who gazed into the distance with an unreadable expression on her face. Her long blonde hair shone in the dim light. After a few moments, she blinked and looked at everyone else without saying anything.
Rachel frowned inwardly but continued to speak. "I think we should split up and check out different parts of the building to find out more about this Order of Erudition before we act." She turned to Scarlett, who was sitting opposite her facing away from her towards the rest of the group. Her straight brown hair cascaded down her back and over her shoulders like a waterfall of silk. She did not respond and Rachel repeated herself loudly. "Scarlett?"
"Yeah," she replied after a moment, "I heard you."
"So... what do you think?" asked Rachel timidly when it became clear that she had no intention of volunteering to go anywhere by herself as Rachel had hoped she would. She was beginning to regret asking Scarlett along in the first place.
"I think that's a good idea," replied Scarlett finally, "I'll go with you." She got up and walked to one end of the room where there was a door with another door beside it leading into another room. Scarlett pushed on both doors until they opened together and walked into the second room while Rachel followed behind her. It was dark inside but they could tell that there was nothing inside except for some clothes hanging on a line which rustled in response to their movements as they explored around. They left the room through another door at its far end which led back into the main room.
Olivia suddenly leapt up from where she sat on the floor next to Violet and ran over to them, "Let me help too!" She seemed excited by something but no one knew what or why so they just nodded and continued making plans, hoping that whatever it was would be explained later. An hour later they had agreed on a plan of action - Rachel would explore the library while Scarlett explored nearby classrooms, a job which Olivia volunteered for enthusiastically.
Although Olivia was persistent in her attempts to gain Scarlett's attention and approval, Scarlett seemed unbothered by her actions. It was evident that their friendship had been strained after Olivia's participation in Scarlett’s previous plan, which nearly jeopardized everything. However, Scarlett appeared to have forgiven Olivia despite the lack of an apology. Understanding human relationships wasn't always straightforward, but perhaps their relationship was healing slowly.
Olivia found herself contemplating various aspects of life, trying to make sense of her experiences. Life could be confusing, with many secrets kept to prevent pain or judgment. But she wondered when people would learn to communicate openly and honestly to promote growth and understanding. The quest for guidance and inspiration felt like searching through layers upon layers of complexities.
Nevertheless, the five girls were determined to uncover the mysteries of the Order of Erudition, exploring the depths of the building for any information that could help them in their pursuit.
