Total Eclipse at Tridentvale

The race began with a dull roar. The engines were ready to go. The racers were ready to roll. And the cars were ready to leave the starting line. But as soon as the flag dropped, everything went wrong.

Umberto's engine was seized from a faulty starter. It made such a horrible noise that he thought he was going to puke.

"Hey, what's that awful sound?" Umberto said when it happened. "Oh no! Not the starter again!"

But the starter did not break down this time, and his engine started right up again. He lost some ground, but he was still in the race. He had to go back and check on his car, though, so he pulled over at the next pit stop.

"I don't know how my car keeps breaking down," Umberto thought out loud. "But I'm gonna figure it out!" He went back to work on his car while Paolo drove by in his Ferrari F1 car, laughing at Umberto's misfortune.

Daniele's engine was seized too after his alternator burst into flames for unknown reasons. "This is terrible! I've got to get out of here before something else goes wrong." He jumped out of his car and ran for his life just as Paolo passed by and mocked him for being afraid of a little fire. "You'd think you'd been racing for more than three hundred years now," Paolo joked as he sped away in his red Ferrari F1 car with a big grin on his face because he was feeling good about himself today because everything was going well so far even though he knew there would be more mishaps besides these two minor ones affecting Umberto and Daniele if his calculations were correct which they always are because that's why he's a champion racer who never loses but that doesn't mean he can't have fun along the way like teasing Daniele who's always been an easy target for him especially when it came to things like this which really didn't bother Daniele anyway because losing wasn't really an issue for him because all that mattered to him in this particular case was getting away from those flames which weren't really a serious threat anyway but they did force him to leave behind all of his belongings including his clothes which means that now he has no choice but to run around in his underwear which isn't nearly as embarrassing as what happens later on when - Oh my god! I'm talking about myself in third person again! What is wrong with me?! Well never mind that for now because where was I? Right - So anyway Daniele just kept running until... Oh no! My leg is stuck under some tires! Now what do I do? Just wait here and hope someone comes along? Maybe I can yell out or something... No wait! I've got an idea! Maybe if I try hard enough, I can fly out of here! If only I could remember how to use my wings... *Flap flap* Ah hah! That's it! Now just hold on tight and - Oh oh oh no no no no no no no no NO NO NO NO NO NO NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
