I laid down the last of the rocks I had collected, then covered my head with my arms and closed my eyes. This was it.

I heard a rustling noise followed by a muffled voice. "Bobby! Bobby, are you here?"

My name was not Bobby. In fact, no one had ever called me that before. However, when you were being hunted, you took any form of kindness or familiarity from someone who wasn't trying to kill you as a gift.

I slowly opened my eyes and looked towards the source of the voice. A small man was walking towards me, cautiously moving his legs between the branches that littered the ground. He had red hair and blue eyes, and he was wearing a self-made leather outfit that barely covered his body. He looked like he was about five-feet tall, but it was hard to tell since his hands were clasped behind his back in front of him.

"You're not going to attack me, are you?" he asked nervously.

I shook my head no and stood up, brushing off the dirt from my skin as I did so. My body was covered in scars, and even though I wore no clothing I had no hair on my body except for what little grew on top of my head and what I could see through my beard in front of my face. My hands were calloused from years of swinging weapons and breaking things; they were also covered in blood that wasn't mine from all the animals I had killed for food or protection over the years.

The little man narrowed his eyes at me suspiciously. "How do I know you won't kill me?"

I smiled at him and replied in a language he didn't understand, but it wasn't necessary for him to understand me for them to understand each other as we would soon find out. I raised my right fist into the air beside me and slowly rotated it around clockwise until it faced upwards like an Olympic torchbearer would after lighting the flame of competition into existence, except there was nothing around us to light on fire so I just pointed straight up in front of me instead like an arrow pointing towards the sky while saying "Aye!" loudly while nodding my head repeatedly while looking at him with an expression that said "Go!" without actually saying anything at all because our brains understood each other's thoughts without needing words to voice them out loud because our minds were closer than best friends who have known each other all their lives after spending their childhoods together outside playing together every day in nature instead learning how to read letters and numbers by memorizing them like mindless droids instead inventing our own language that we both invented ourselves through playfully making gestures with our hands which eventually developed into full sentences since we liked talking with each other more than speaking English or any other language for that matter including this one which we used now when we spoke aloud to communicate with others because we thought it sounded cool which made it easier for others to understand us since they didn't have to think as hard when we spoke since they already knew what we meant when we used our native tongue meaning that most people who heard us talking didn't even need to ask us what we meant which made conversations between us easy since there was no explaining needed on either side only understanding instantly without having to wait for their turn to talk which made conversation between us more fun than tedious because everyone could talk at any time without interrupting each other which made conversation more smooth flowing than choppy like some conversations between adults where one person interrupts another person while they're speaking which makes everyone else feel uncomfortable so they don't say anything while waiting their turn because they don't want to be interrupted too so they stay quiet until everyone else has finished talking only then will they take their turn but by then the conversation has already gone stale so people leave alone feeling sad which makes them feel even worse because they can't express themselves how they want so now everyone feels bad instead of just one person feeling unhappy because someone interrupted them during their turn so now everyone is unhappy because nobody can say what they want when they want without interruptions getting in their way ignoring everything else around them which means that no one can really enjoy themselves properly because whenever someone is talking everyone has to pay attention or else they miss important information which is frustrating if you don't hear something correctly because you weren't paying attention but if you ask questions later then someone feels judged or annoyed if you keep asking questions about missing details so people try not to ask questions because they don't want anyone annoyed at them so conversations always end up poorly which means that lots of friendships between adults suck because communication styles get messed up between adults who don't know how to talk properly with each other causing problems for those who don't know how to speak properly amongst adults meaning that true friendship between adults rarely happens anymore since adults are scared of opening up about personal stuff for fear of being judged or rejected or criticized whereas children don't care about these things because kids still haven't learned how mean adults can be towards each other leading kids to have friendships based on genuine interest in one another where adults never have this experience anymore unless they're extremely lucky enough meet someone who won't judge them or reject them or criticize them once they open up about themselves meaning that most adults get scared off easily by social norms imposed upon them by society making friendship boring among adults which is why young kids are happier than older people who learn too quickly how cruel humanity can be especially among adults who lose faith in friendship quickly after experiencing disappointment after disappointment after disappointment which means that most adult friendships are shallow rather than deep meaning that adult interactions usually revolve around fun activities like parties and watching movies together instead of deep meaningful discussions about life ideologies beliefs dreams hopes wishes fears failures failures failures failures failures failures failures failures failures failures failures failures failures failures
