The Betrayed Gem

Ashely, an archeologist determined to find out what happened to her late father after he finds a mysterious gem and suddenly vanishes, begins her journey to the moon in 18th century. After arriving, she makes her way to the abandoned temples rumored to provide answers to her mysterious quest. Ashely meets her local guide, a peculiar woman with a curt attitude and a hidden agenda, that leads her towards a peculiar tablet written with hieroglyphics. Still unable to decipher it, Ashley begins her descent deeper into the temple with her guide in anticpation of locating the mysterious gem. Ashely slowly navigates through the temple and soon stumbles upon a hallway illuminated with candles, its walls decorated with ancient art and symbols. The guide motions for Ashely to move away, prompting her to the center of the hallway. As the guide moves closer to one of the walls, it suddenly slides to its side, revealing a hidden room filled with lush pastel colours, unearthly music , and an enchantingly beautiful woman with an eerily familiar face. Suddenly, Ashley's guide steps back into silence and the room's peculiar inhabitant introduces herself as Ashley's doppelganger. In a frozen gasp of shock, Ashley attempts to reply but the doppelgänger stops her. Smilling, she assures Ashley it'll explain everything while Ashely pores through her recent memories and clues leading to a realization that it was the doppelgänger who took the gem and cursed Ashley's father beforehand.

Agitated and determined, Ashely vehemently confronts her doppelgänger on the truth behind her father's disappearance. Through her explanantion, Ashley learns the gem is of an evil nature and cursed everybody that came in contact with it health, sanity, and life. Ironically, the gem was why her doppelgänger had been immortal for centuries and searching for the gem to be freed from the curse befallen upon her father. With little information to spare, Ashely's doppelgänger issued a warning to Ashley not to continue her search, or try to take the gem, otherwise a dire consequence would befall upon him as well. Ashley ignores the warning and takes it as a sign to increase her search of the temple.

After endless exploring and running through the eerie depths of the temple, Ashley finds the cursed gem in a room far beyond the entrance. Clutching it in her hands, ashley felt an ancient power surge through her while her cursed doppelgänger moves closer, demanding the gem back. Resolute and determined, Ashley clinches the godly gem to her chest and engages in a heated debate with her doppelgänger. Knowing Ashley could still use the gem against her will, her doppelgänger issues a series of unnatural trials Ashely must endure and pass before she can take it. Intent on solving the gem’s mysteries without fail and clearing her father's name, Ashely earnestly embarks on a set of specific task and logical riddles posed by her heinous doppelgänger.

Ashely reaches the final trial and even with her doppelgänger’s hauntingly taunting threats, passes the challenge with her indomitable spirit and courage. Suddenly, tumbling walls appear, trapping Ashley and her remaining curation of doppelgängers inside a closing wall. With the roof slowly crumbling around them, Ashley and her doppelgänger engage in a spectacular fight while Ashley pins her doppelgänger against the walls of the temple. With the dust settling around the scene, Ashley manages to grab the gem and shake free of her doppelgänger’s grasp. In one quick motion, Ashley slams into her doppelgänger and points a finger while applying a mite of pressure from the gem to her opponent’s chest. In a cloud of ancient smoke, Ashley’s doppelgänger fades into the temple, leaving nothing except the gem in Ashley’s hand. In pain and dizzy from the disaster, Ashley composes herself and quickly scarpers up the walls and outside the temple, attaining consciousness by the side of her faithful guide. With the gem tightly sealed and stowed in her pocketbook, ashley watches from afar as the temple collapses and take with it the strange tablet and Ashley’s mysterious doppelgänger. As the sun andshine above the ruins of the empty temple, Ashley collects what’s left of her tools and motions her guide to start the journey back home in trepidation.
