Penny's Great Escape
·
Published 3/17/2023Embarrassed and struggling to maintain her composure, Penny Field, the successful business woman, attempts to hide her desperate need to use the bathroom as she discusses her company's financial growth in a boardroom populated with 2nd century BCE townspeople - only to accidentally rip an audible and wet fart, throwing the meeting into chaos.
I had never been so embarrassed in my entire life. I knew this was coming, but it didn’t stop me from being mortified.
“I don’t see why you need to leave the room!” My boss spoke as I got up and walked to the door, “There is no way you can be that desperate!”
He wasn’t wrong. No, I really wasn’t that desperate. But I had felt a fart rip out of me and I just couldn’t stay there anymore. If I didn’t leave now, they were going to smell it. This was a small group of people who worked together on a daily basis, smelling gas was going to get back to everyone else by the end of the day.
I could feel my face turning red as my cheeks burned hot with embarrassment. The only thing worse than farting in a room full of people was trying to hide it from them. With my head down, I grabbed my jacket and left the room at full speed, hoping no one would notice me running away like a coward.
I heaved the door closed behind myself and took off for the bathroom. It was only two hallways over, but at this point it might as well be a hundred miles away. When I got there, I opened the door quickly to make sure no one else was using it and then slammed it shut behind me and locked it. I breathed heavily and leaned against the wall as my heart rate slowed down again while taking in a few deep breaths.
I started walking over to one of the stalls when I heard the door open behind me.
Oh no… please let whoever that is not use that stall…
