Clash of Conviction: The Rio Gang's Ultimatum.
·
Published 3/29/2023In third century Rio de Janeiro, a criminal gang desperately fights for survival against an unexpected monster, leading them into an introspective journey as they discover their true moral compass and potential for greatness.
My knees were on the floor, trembling just a little, as I heard the front door open.
The room was almost completely dark. The only source of light was from the moonlight shining through the window. It cast everything in a blue tint that made the shadows even darker.
I knew who it was, and I knew what he was going to do. He was going to slaughter us, one by one, and then make his way back to my room to kill me.
I didn't know why I wasn't afraid. I just knew it had to be done. I could feel it in my bones like an itch that you can't scratch it away.
I heard heavy footsteps on the wooden floor as he made his way down the hallway towards me. He passed someone's room and stopped for a second, but I knew he would keep going. There weren't any other rooms except for mine at the end of the hallway. Then I heard him opening the door and walking in my room. He walked over to my bed and looked down at me where I lay there sprawled out on top of my sheets. His face was illuminated by moonlight, making him look like a living personification of death himself staring down at me with eyes full of hate and bloodlust.
"You're dead now." He said grimly, reaching for something inside his jacket pocket. But before he could grab whatever it was he wanted to use against me, I found myself moving up behind him with inhuman speed. I grabbed him by his head with both hands and twisted hard until I heard a loud crack before dropping him lifelessly onto my bed. Without wasting another moment, I jumped out of bed and opened up the closet next to it where we kept all our guns while looking around for any more intruders in my house; but there were none left standing besides this one. Keeping an eye on the dead man lying on my bed, I loaded a pistol with its bullets (thank god they hadn't been taken away yet) and put on my old bulletproof vest before grabbing some extra clips for my pistol along with some extra guns and ammo for when those ran out before finally taking off down the hallway towards where their vehicles were parked outside waiting for them to take back to wherever they lived after this night was over.
As soon as I stepped outside into the grassy yard, I immediately drew up behind a tree near the front door so that no one could see me from inside or from down at their vehicles where they were most likely setting things up for when they returned here later tonight or early tomorrow morning; probably both since we had plans for them either way tonight or tomorrow..
There were eight men including their leader who called himself Armando who stood there talking idly between themselves while half-heartedly packing their things into their cars while still keeping an eye out on us inside our house so they wouldn't miss any opportunity to strike at us if they got one; but they weren't getting anything now because there wasn't anyone left alive except for me who could give them trouble; and even if they did attack again, we would have plenty of time to get prepared while they would not have any time whatsoever because we already knew they were coming..
