Eternal Love: The Stranger's Struggle

The story begins on the planet of Mars, in a distant kingdom of late medieval times. An old man is telling a fantastic tale of an eldritch horror known as "The Stranger" to a group of enthralled listeners — the story of one whose love affair will alter their world forever. As he narrates, the old man reveals how The Stranger had been cursed to wander for all eternity, unable to be seen in physical form by any mortal eyes. Capable of transforming himself into any creature, The Stranger had been doomed to wander from one kingdom to the next, searching for a companion to ease his cursed loneliness. One day, in a far-off kingdom, The Stranger suddenly appears before the King's beautiful daughter, the Princess, and something inside him sparks. For the first time in years, he wants to stay in one place and feel alive again. Although the King is firmly against having an ethereal being in his presence, he nevertheless commands his daughter to humor The Stranger and listen to his stories. A slow but steady relationship begins to form between the two, with The Stranger convincing the Princess of his intentions. He proves himself to be a wise and honorable figure, willing to make personal sacrifices to keep her safe and free from harm. As they spend more time together, The Stranger and the Princess develop a strong emotional bond, causing the Kingdom to become rife with gossip and baseless accusations.

Fearing for their safety, the Princess and The Stranger decide to escape the Kingdom and flee to the depths of Mars. As they journey further and further from their homeland, the two grow emotionally closer, and the Stranger reveals a glimpse of his true form in secret moments — a terrifying form with tentacles, scales and other eldritch features. Worst of all, he shares with the Princess his dark truth that he is cursed not just to exist as an otherworldly being but also to endure his form for eternity, unable to die or fade away. Still, the Princess is resolute and wants to stay with him no matter what. She shows no fear, allowing The Stranger to reveal his true self and make them a cohesive team. Together, the two travel across the wilderness and survive dangerous encounters with bandits and local tribes. Eventually, they happen upon a hidden city of monsters creatures who live on the fringes of the kingdom, forced to hide so that they could coexist peacefully with the mortals—a shining example of tolerance in contrast to the mortal world. The Stranger discovers that his female companion is accepted by the monster city, which allows the two of them to stay together and live as one. The city gives The Stranger a chance to lead a seemingly normal life, providing him the opportunity to display parts of himself that he never thought possible cultivating a garden, trading goods, building homes and even leading a creature militia.

Meanwhile, back in his homeland, the Stranger's cursed form is becoming widely known amongst the people, generating a torrent of rumors about "the man who cannot be seen." People begins to fear the stranger, believing that The Stranger is here to cause destruction and chaos in their kingdom. After all, had he not absconded with their beloved Princess? In a desperate attempt to protect her, The Stranger's beloved Princess seeks to return home, but he refuses and makes her promise to stay hidden by their side in the monster city. Tragically, the King has not taken kindly to the runaways and soon dispatches an emissary and royal guard to investigate and hunt them down. As the King dances on the brink of total war, the Princess is determined to show her father the same kindness and comfort she received when she was with The Stranger, which proves to be far more difficult than she had ever imagined. The King demands to have The Stranger obeyed, offering the princess a crown in exchange of The Stranger's life. In moments of desperation and guilt, the Princess makes a heartbreaking decision — to use herself as a shield and guard The Stranger by offering her life instead. Her offer is accepted, and she is allowed to return home, leaving The Stranger behind, heartbroken and lost.

The Stranger contemplates traveling the universe of Mars in a never-ending quest for true love. But his love for his beloved princess remains so strong that he decides to cast aside his cursed form and departs the monster city one final time. Leaving behind the monsters and a piece of his heart, he embarks on a journey to reunite with his beloved. Arriving in the country of his beloved Princess, The Stranger finds that the kingdom has been on the brink of civil war after her loving words reached her father. The King, who is now as determined to save the Princess as The Stranger, proclaims his daughter as the Queen of the Realm. But before the King and the kingdom can celebrate, The Stranger reveals himself in his true and cursed form. With emotions high and guards closing in, The Stranger pleads with the King to allow his beloved Princess the chance to choose her own destiny. Will the Princess forsake her kingdom and accept The Stranger's offer of love? Or, will her father accept The Stranger as a being of honor, transforming the Stranger into a person of power? The King accepts The Stranger's request, providing a desperate but crucial lifeline to a young, passionate Princess. And in the end, the Princess acknowledges The Stranger's love, granting him physical form and a place of honor in the kingdom. The Stranger can now live unseen by the people and free from his infernal curse - eternally in love with the Princess. Despite their cursed love, The Stranger still holds admiration and respect for their former homes — the monster city, and the kingdom of her parents. The audience is left to mull over the bittersweet result of their special tale; as no epilogue is offered, the story and its many questions hang in the air.
