Magic of the Lunar Titans: Daisy and Lily's Discovery
·
Published 2/26/2023Two magical diaper-clad girls, Daisy and Lily, set out on a wild journey for knowledge when they discover Lily's hidden magical potential and her true mission: to unlock the mysteries of the mythical and magical Lunar Titan with Daisy's help- and their lives might be at stake.
I pulled my hood over my head as I walked up the steps of Lunar Titan School for The Gifted. It had been raining all week, but today was the first day I'd been able to walk from my house to school without getting wet.
The door opened before I could ring the bell and Lily's mom, Mrs. Larsen, stood in the doorway. She smiled at me. "Hello Daisy, Lily is so excited to be in your class today." She ushered me into the foyer and took my coat. "Your mom asked me to give you this," she said handing me a small pouch. Inside was a warm muffin and a note from Mom. She gave me a hug and whispered in my ear, "Remember, no magic in class today."
"Principal Thompson will see you now," said Mrs. Larsen guiding me down the hall towards the office. "He just wants to meet with you before class starts."
I nodded and followed her down the long corridor to Principal Thompson's office. He was seated behind his desk looking out of the window when we entered. He stood as we approached and shook my hand saying, "Daisy, it's very nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you too Mr Thompson," I replied politely. Lily's mom showed him her ID badge hanging around her neck and left us alone together while she went back to her office on the floor below us.
"Your mother has spoken very highly of you," he continued. He was an older man with white hair and bushy eyebrows that made him look like a cross between a scolding teacher and an angry lion when he frowned at me sternly after I accidentally let my Farting Fairy Princess doll slip out of my backpack as I put it on his desk. It fluttered about playfully near his face until he glared at it menacingly making it fly away from him quickly with frightened little giggles that sounded like fart noises as it flew out of the room. No one else noticed or seemed to care about my little fairy farting away like some kind of crazy harpy bird leaving only a strange smell behind which drifted slowly out of the room as if drawn by an invisible breeze that followed all the way until it finally disappeared somewhere far away as if someone had turned off an air freshener plugged into an outlet somewhere deep within the bowels of this massive school building that sprawled through three stories of classrooms, offices, and labs along with six levels above ground where lessons were taught in magical subjects like Potions & Poisons, Magical Entities & Creatures, Spellcasting Spells & Charms, Magical Spells & Charms, Magical Potions & Poisons, Magical Entities & Creatures again (this time called Creatures & Entities), Magical Locations & Peoples (this time called Locations & Peoples), Legendary Beings & Objects (called Beings & Objects), Magical Knowledge & Lore (called Knowledge & Lore) among others that I can't remember now because... well... because... ummm... oh yeah! Because I wasn't paying attention! I'm still learning all these magical words myself! My mind was wandering again! That's why! That's what it means! My mind was wandering again! And guess what? It wandered right back here because even though I wasn't focusing on anything that Mr Thompson said to me, somehow I still remembered what he looked like sitting there talking to me with his scary eyes burning a hole right through me because he is scary looking isn't he? But not really scary because he is also nice which is why Mom sent me here today instead of going herself who would have otherwise taken away my wand and shoved it back up wherever it came from being a Muggle born witch who believes that Muggle children should be kept ignorant of the things they refuse to accept is true so she doesn't want me using any magic except for maybe sneaking off into some corner somewhere using spells quietly by myself because she thinks witches don't need training or education or experience or mentors or anything at all actually which is why she hates sending me here because Grandma Witchy always says that Muggle born witches are stupid for not seeing what everyone else can see since birth which is why Lily's mom pretty much hates my mom too which isn't fair since Lily's mom loves Lily dearly enough that she brought her here from Scotland last year with her husband who protects them both against anyone who doesn't believe their kid has any special powers just like everyone else does in Scotland where Lily lives with them which is apparently different than here where kids go to school for reasons other than protecting themselves from crazy people like Muggles who hate witches or Scottish people who get killed by Vampires or whatever else happens in Scotland beside running into Witches who are angry with each other over silly disagreements most of which aren't even real arguments because they're usually just people trying to prove how smart they are when really they're just arguing over stupid stuff like whether or not there are two moons orbiting Earth instead of one which turns out there are even though no one likes to admit it which is why Lily got kicked out of her old school in Edinburgh last year by one Mr Evans whose face turned purple when he found out there were two moons orbiting Earth just like mine did yesterday when Mom told me that there weren't any Wizards at all anywhere on Earth including Scotland! You can read all about it yourself by typing 'Hogwarts' into Google on your phone if you don't believe me because I have never lied about something so important before in my life which means this whole thing must be true since aliens visited Earth thousands of years ago and we share magic together today using secret words written on our planet somewhere waiting for someone special like Lily who can find them using her special gift thanks to Grandma Witchy whom Mom adores but refuses to listen to even after telling her multiple times something bad will happen soon unless we prepare ourselves ahead of time by studying hard so we can defeat whatever evil force will soon descend upon us driving millions across our world into hiding leaving only those brave few who welcome its arrival unmasking their true identities proudly knowing they are ready for whatever awaits them despite objections from the rest who prefer ignorance over understanding believing that knowledge brings nothing good for humanity since ignorance allows them sleep peacefully at night pretending everything will be alright when deep inside they know better but choose instead to ignore reality hoping against hope for a miracle that will save them from themselves so please tell your mother thank you for sending us here today so we can learn how best to protect ourselves from whatever lies ahead!"
I blinked several times trying to clear my head before realizing I fell asleep standing up while Principal Thompson continued talking without noticing anything unusual happening around him following a similar pattern most adults do not questioning things they don't understand attributing those odd moments simply as normal quirks caused by stress or fatigue believing everything always makes perfect sense despite occasional lapses resulting in skipping words during conversations misplacing objects during daily routines forgetting names whenever introduced forgetting faces whenever met forgetting details whenever questioned forgetting entire moments sometimes days later often causing arguments among friends leading broken relationships leading broken homes leading broken families leading broken hearts leading broken spirits leading broken dreams leading untold pain leading untold suffering leading untold torment leading untold sorrows leading untold desires leading unanswered questions leaving unanswered mysteries leaving unanswered questions leaving unanswered mysteries leaving unanswered questions…
