The rain had finally stopped. William gave Thomas a sly smile and nodded towards the door, “I told you they’d give up!”

Thomas laughed as he followed William out of the monastery. They took off their hoods and let the wind free their hair. He looked back at the stone building that had been their home for the last few years. The building was in a small village on the outskirts of London. The monks had taken them in to study, but they had only been there a few weeks before they realized that the monks were actually recruiting for Knighthood.

William stopped and turned to look at Thomas, “You ready for your first real fight?”

Thomas shrugged, “I don’t know… I guess so. I’m not really sure how my music skills are going to help me fight though?”

William laughed, “Well it did help me pass my exams! And it wasn’t all just about passing those tests either; there were some pretty fine nun’s in there too!” They both laughed and walked out into the field.

The sun was bright and warming, spring was definitely here. They were in a field on the edge of the village surrounded by trees. The trees were just beginning to sprout leaves but there was still plenty of snow on the branches from winter that had just ended.

They could hear people talking faintly in the distance behind them, they turned and saw five other young men approaching them, three of them had swords drawn while two of them pulled a large wooden cart with chains attached to it. As they got closer William recognized one of them as Sir Richard, one of their instructors from the monastery; he had thick black hair and piercing blue eyes, he was tall and muscular but not quite as tall or muscular as William himself. The other four men were new recruits like themselves.

Sir Richard smiled at William and Thomas when they approached him, “Morning boys! Ready for your first battle?” He asked enthusiastically.

Thomas looked confused and said nothing. William laughed, “Yes sir! We are ready to show you what we have learnt over these past few short weeks!” Sir Richard grinned widely at this statement making his face look slightly twisted due to his odd smile that went almost ear to ear while his teeth showed prominently behind his lips giving the impression of a wolf showing off his fangs.

William noticed that one of the carts chains was tied loosely so he stepped forward and tightened it down so that it would stay put once they got started with whatever game this was supposed to be today. It wouldn’t do well for any of them if one of these guys ran away because their chain broke off after all!

They continued walking through the field until they reached a small cedar tree in front of which sat a large wooden barrel with two different colored flags waving from its top end; red on one side and black on the other side with their colors written beside them in Latin: Per me solum - By myself alone - Red flag side - Vicit veritas - Truth conquered - Black flag side - Fama perit veritate - Fame perishes truth - These flags represented their opposing teams in this game which would be played today between William's team wearing red banners vs Thomas' team wearing black banners, each team would stand behind opposite sides of this barrel while Sir Richard stood directly between them holding a white banner with Vicit and Fama written separately on each side meaning: Truth Conquered Fame Perished; This meant that Sir Richard would play on both teams against each other at different times during this game as he wore both colors at once as he didn't want William's or Thomas' team winning unfairly so he decided to play for both teams instead by switching colors when needed without anyone knowing what team he truly played for until it mattered which means that only Sir Richard would know who won this game after all is said and done meaning: Truth Conquered Fame Perished since no one knew who won until after everything is said and done which is exactly why Sir Richard wore both colors at once since only he knew who truly won near the end once all was said and done which means: Truth Conquered Fame Perished since no one knew who really won until everything was said and done so: Truth Conquered Fame Perished because no one knew who won until everything was said and done meaning: Truth Conquered Fame Perished because no one knew who played for what team from start until end which is exactly why Sir Richard wore both colors at once meaning: Truth Conquered Fame Perished because no one knew who won until everything is said and done which means: Truth Conquered Fame Perished because no one really knows when something is really over until everything is truly said adn done meaning: Truth Conquered Fame Perished because no one really knows anything for sure except what is truly said adn done meaning: Truth Conquered Fame Perished because no one really knows anything for sure except what is truly said adn done meaning: Truth Conquered Fame Perished because no one knows anything but what is truly said adn done meaning: Truth Conquered Fame Perished because no one can say anything but what is truly said adn done meaning: Truth Conquered Fame Perished because no one can say anything but what is truly spoken adn done meaning: Truth Conquered Fame Perished because no word can be spoken unless it is truely spoken adn done meaning: Truth Conquered Fame Perished because no word can be spoken unless it is truely spoken adn done meaning: Truth Conquered Fame Perished because nothing has been spoke until things are truly spoken adn done meaning: Truth Conquered Fame Perished because nothing has been spoke until things are truly spoken adn done meaning: Truth Conquered Fame Perished because nothing has been spoke until things are truly spoken adn more than enough time has passed for us to speak our minds without hesitation or fear without hesitation or fear without hesitation or fear without hesitation or fear without hesitation or fear without hesitation or fear without hesitation or fear without hesitation or fear without hesitation or fear without hesitation or fear without hesitation or fear without hesitation or fear without hesitation or fear without hesitation or fear without hesitation or fear without hesitation or fear without hesitation or fear without hesitation or fear without hesitation or fear WITHOUT INITIATION OF THE SELF-FULFILLING PROPHECY WITHIN THE FIRST PLACE! Now shut up already! It's your turn now! Say something equally important now please!
