"Are you sure this is going to work, Hanifah?" Amalia asked, her voice laced with skepticism. "I mean, time travel? That's a bit far-fetched, don't you think?"
Hanifah smiled confidently, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Trust me, Amalia. I've done all the calculations and everything should go according to plan. Plus, Bima here built us our very own time machine. Isn't that right, Bima?"
Bima nodded enthusiastically. "That's right! I used my engineering skills to create a device that can manipulate the space-time continuum. We're going to be the first people in history to travel through time!"
Amalia sighed and shook her head. "You two are crazy," she muttered under her breath.
Ignoring Amalia's doubt, Hanifah motioned for her friends to step inside the small metallic capsule that Bima had constructed in his garage. The time machine was a tight fit for the three of them, but they squeezed in together and fastened their seatbelts.
Bima typed some commands into the control panel and the time machine hummed to life. The walls began to vibrate and a soft blue light enveloped them as they traveled through time.
After what felt like an eternity, the vibrations subsided and the blue light faded away. The friends cautiously unfastened their seatbelts and peered out of the small windows of the time machine.
They gasped in awe at what they saw.
The world outside looked completely different from what they were used to. Tall glass buildings reached towards the sky, their surfaces reflecting colorful holographic images that danced in mid-air.
Flying cars whizzed past on invisible lanes while humanoid robots walked alongside humans on the streets below.
Everywhere they looked there were screens displaying information or projecting virtual reality experiences for those who wore specialized glasses or neural implants.
Amalia's eyes widened with wonder. "This is... incredible," she breathed.
Hanifah and Bima nodded in agreement, their faces mirroring Amalia's awe.
As they continued to observe the futuristic world outside, a humanoid robot approached the time machine. Its metallic face displayed a friendly smile as it spoke to them in a robotic voice.
"Welcome to the year 2500. How may I assist you?"
The friends exchanged excited glances before Hanifah responded. "We're just here to observe. We don't need any assistance, thank you."
The humanoid nodded and walked away, continuing its programmed tasks.
Hanifah, Amalia, and Bima stepped out of the time machine and explored the future world around them. They marveled at the advanced technology and how it had transformed every aspect of society.
Despite the digital nature of this future world, they were relieved to see that the environment looked green and clean. Solar panels covered every available surface, providing renewable energy for all.
As they wandered through the city streets, they noticed that people seemed happier and more relaxed than in their own time period. The humanoids helped with menial tasks, allowing humans to focus on creative pursuits or spend time with loved ones.
"This is like a utopia," Amalia whispered in amazement.
Hanifah nodded thoughtfully. "It seems that way. But remember, we're only seeing a small snapshot of this future world. There could be challenges and problems that we don't know about."
Bima frowned slightly but then smiled at his friends reassuringly. "You're right, Hanifah. But let's enjoy this experience while we can."
And so they did.
Hanifah, Amalia, and Bima spent hours exploring the future city before returning to their time machine for their journey back home.
As they fastened their seatbelts once again, Amalia turned to Hanifah with a smile. "You were right, Hanifah. Time travel wasn't so far-fetched after all. And I'm glad we got to see this glimpse of the future."
Hanifah smiled back at her friend. "I'm glad too, Amalia. Who knows? Maybe one day we'll be able to create a future like this ourselves."
With those words hanging in the air, Bima typed in the coordinates for their return trip and the time machine hummed to life once more.
As they traveled back through time, the friends couldn't help but feel hopeful for what the future held, both for themselves and for the world they lived in.
