Johann's Fateful Dance

Johann was born into a family of three. His father, mother and he, they lived in a small hut. Johann's mother died after giving birth to him. However, his father loved him dearly and raised him with love and care. He was always there for Johann and helped his son with everything. This made Johann very happy and he loved his father dearly in return. He often helped his father out in the fields or whenever he could.

One day his father had to take care of some important matters at the village square so he asked Johann to collect firewood for the winter. Johann gladly accepted the job and went out immediately with an axe in hand to chop some wood. He then realized, while standing there alone, that it was not such a good idea after all because he didn't know what kind of trees were poisonous or not.

"Hmm... I am sure my dad wouldn't want me dying on him..." Johann mumbled to himself. Suddenly he heard an odd noise coming from nearby bushes. ""Wuuuuuuuuuuuuuup"". A dog was sitting there panting heavily as if it had been chasing something for quite some time now. "Hey boy! What's wrong?" said Johann happily as he began petting the dog on its head, which seemed quite calmed by this action of Johann's. "Well...I think I saw my dinner run into these bushes." The dog replied rather lazily as it enjoyed the petting. "Oh? And what would that be?" asked Johann again curiously. "A hare!" The dog replied rather excitedly as it started sniffing around the bushes again but seemingly not having found anything yet. "A hare you say? Well I guess we can give that poor creature no mercy today!" said johann energetically while taking out his axe from behind his back and pointing towards the bushes with it proudly as if he had just defeated an army with only one strike of his mighty weapon (which he actually hadn't).

"Wait! Wait! I don't think you should go killing things willy nilly like that!" shouted the dog suddenly jumping aside to where Johann was pointing before it almost got its nose chopped off by surprise by said weapon of Johann's while doing so, "He will probably run away even more if you do that!" The dog continued starting to pant once again as it seemed pretty tired from all that running around it did earlier but still wanted to catch its dinner no matter what happened to it.

"But how are we supposed to catch that rabbit then?" asked johann confused after hearing this statement from the dog, "If we can't kill him can we just let him go free?" Then the dog seemed to get an idea as if struck by lightning itself after hearing those words from johann, "Hmmm... Well I believe I have got just the right plan for this situation," said the dog finally catching its breath again, "Now listen carefully." This made johann accept defeat instantly without much further discussion about their current predicament as he listened intently about this 'perfect' plan of theirs which would supposedly lead them straight towards their original goal of catching a rabbit without any mishaps on their part whatsoever happening at any point in time during this journey of theirs towards their goal of catching themselves a rabbit for dinner which would supposedly be more than enough food for both of them until next week when they would once again be able to catch themselves another rabbit for dinner which would also be more than enough for both of them to eat until next week too until finally they would run out of rabbits to eat so they might as well eat each other as they were starving at this point anyways so why not? After hearing this explanation from the dog johann had decided that this plan of theirs was indeed perfect and thus they decided to set forth on their journey towards this goal of theirs right away without wasting any further time on thinking about whether their plan or not would succeed or fail because why should they even bother thinking about such trivialities when they already had a perfectly working plan all figured out already? They simply set forth on their journey towards their destination immediately after making this decision and left all those questions behind which could potentially distract them from catching themselves a rabbit for dinner tonight! So off they went! But suddenly...BANG! BANG! BANG! There came gunshots from somewhere behind them followed by a voice shouting out orders in German(because Germany is where this story takes place), "HALT! HALT! HALT IT DOWN YOU DOGS OF THE SS UNTEROFFIZIERE DIE IMMER NOCH DENKEN SIE GEHABEN ZUM HUNTEN MITTERNACHT IN EINER WILDE NACH DEM ABENDESSEN WIR GIBUN ALL ES UNTEROFFIZIERE EINE AKTION BESCHEID!" This made both Johann *and* the dog stop dead in their tracks and turn around slowly towards the direction where these gunshots came shooting from with paled faces on their parts as they only managed to understand two words uttered by that man who shouted at them, who happened to be speaking German at them (of course), which were 'Halt' and 'SS Unteroffiziere'.

"Shit..." mumbled both Johann and the dog simultaneously upon realizing that these men shooting at them were SS Unteroffiziere who were hunting down any strays who could potentially ruin their evening hunt with their boss dressed up in a white wolf costume while wearing high heels like some kind of freakish super hero villain or something like that because apparently hunting down wild animals like rabbits or whatever was deemed 'an honourable sport' among Nazi officers despite never having hunted down one animal throughout their entire lives themselves but oh well let's not bother thinking about such trifling details right now shall we? Who cares about keeping track of how many animals have been killed during our lifetime?! Who cares about being able to differentiate between 'hunting' animals and simply slaughtering them?! It's always better to enjoy life while you can before dying later on instead isn't? Let's just forget about all those silly questions people have been asking us over our lifetimes and instead enjoy life knowing full well that we'll die sooner rather than later anyway so why bother worrying too much about stupid stuff like cancer, heart attacks or whatever else is killing people these days because oh well who cares let's just enjoy life while we can before dying later on alright? Let's just stop questioning everything people have been telling us our entire lives altogether because otherwise we might have ended up questioning things like 'what does being German really mean'? Or even worse yet...'what does being alive really mean?' Which could potentially lead us into questioning things like 'why are we here?' Or even worse yet...'what happens after death?' Which could potentially lead us into questioning things like 'where is God?' Or even worse yet... Doesn't God exist at all?' Which could potentially lead us into questioning things like 'have I been lied to my entire life?' Which could potentially lead us into further questioning things like 'how am I supposed to act morally as a person anymore if my entire morality has been shaped by lies?」 These kinds or questions were exactly what nobody wanted people asking each other nowadays considering how deep down this path led towards some scary places indeed so better keep everyone distracted by getting rid of anyone who starts asking too many questions hey? Let's just keep everyone quiet alright? That way we won't have any problems later on alright? No problems means no worries means no work means no government problems either means less work for politicians too means more enjoyment towards life later on alright? SO LET'S JUST ENJOY LIFE WHILE WE CAN BEFORE DYING LATER ON AND NOT QUESTION ANYTHING ABOUT OUR LIFE TOO MUCH SHALL WE DEAR PEOPLE?! SO LET'S JUST TRY THIS NEW PLAN OF OURS WHICH LOOKS PRETTY GOOD RIGHT NOW AND SEE IF IT WORKS OR NOT OKAY?!"
