Inception's Redemption: A Clone's Dilemma

Ariadne couldn't believe what she was hearing. She looked at Cobb, searching for some sign that this was a joke, but his expression was deadly serious.

"You're telling me that Robert Fischer is not actually Maurice Fischer's son, but a clone created by Saito?" Ariadne asked incredulously.

Cobb nodded. "That's right. We stumbled upon the truth during our research. Saito has been playing us all along."

"But why? Why would he go to such lengths to create a clone and then use us to carry out his plans?" Ariadne asked, her mind reeling with the implications of this revelation.

"Because he's a power-hungry bastard," Eames interjected. "He wanted to take over Maurice Fischer's company and thought this was the easiest way to do it."

"But... but what about the inception?" Ariadne stammered. "If Robert isn't responsible for his father's company, then should we even be doing this?"

"That's exactly what we need to figure out," Cobb said gravely. "We've been so focused on the mission that we didn't stop to question why we were doing it in the first place."

Ariadne felt a sinking feeling in her stomach. They had spent weeks planning and preparing for this inception, and now everything was up in the air.

"What about Saito's intentions? If he's using us as a distraction, then maybe we shouldn't be helping him at all," she suggested tentatively.

Cobb sighed heavily. "I wish it were that simple, Ariadne. But if we back out now, there's no guarantee that we'll ever get another chance to go home."

Ariadne felt torn. On one hand, she didn't want to harm an innocent clone who had no control over his creation or circumstances. But on the other hand, she wanted nothing more than to return to reality and leave this dream world behind.

"We need to talk to Robert," she said finally. "We need to know what he thinks about all of this."

Cobb nodded in agreement. "You're right. It's his mind we're invading, after all. We owe it to him to be honest about what we've discovered."

Ariadne took a deep breath and steeled herself for the difficult conversation ahead. She knew that their revelation would shake Robert's world, just as it had shaken hers.

As they made their way back to the hotel room where Robert was staying, Ariadne couldn't help but wonder how they had gotten into this mess. They had started out with good intentions, wanting to help Robert overcome his father's influence and find his own path in life. But now, everything had changed.

When they entered the hotel room, Robert looked up from where he was sitting on the bed, his face pale and drawn.

"I heard everything," he said quietly. "I didn't mean to eavesdrop, but I couldn't help myself."

Ariadne felt a surge of sympathy for him. He was just a pawn in someone else's game, much like they were.

"We're so sorry, Robert," she said earnestly. "We never meant for any of this to happen."

Robert nodded sadly. "I know you didn't. But now we have a choice to make, don't we? Should we continue with the inception and risk harming an innocent clone? Or should we abort the mission and potentially never get home?"

Ariadne sighed heavily. She wished there was an easy answer, but she knew that life was rarely that simple.

"I think we need some time to think about it," she said finally. "We'll let you know our decision soon."

Robert nodded again and turned his attention back to the window, lost in his own thoughts. Ariadne couldn't help but feel a sense of responsibility for him. They had brought him into this mess, and now they had to find a way to fix it.

As she and Cobb left the hotel room, Ariadne couldn't shake the feeling that they were running out of time. The longer they stayed in this dream world, the more complicated things became.

"We need to make a decision, Cobb," she said firmly. "We can't keep dragging this out."

Cobb nodded in agreement. "You're right, Ariadne. I'll gather everyone together and we'll discuss our options."

Ariadne felt a surge of gratitude for Cobb. Despite all his flaws and mistakes, he was still the best at what he did. And she knew that together, they would find a way to make things right.

As she followed Cobb down the hallway, Ariadne couldn't help but wonder how this would all end. Would they be able to complete the inception and return home? Or would their actions have consequences that they couldn't even begin to imagine?

Only time would tell.
