A Magnificent Bond: The Umbreon and the Leafeon Journey

*In the beginning, there was no man. Only Pokemon.*

*The first Pokemon born in the world were three Pidgey, and they flew across the land until they came to a clearing in a forest. This is where they decided to live, and thus this became known as Pidgey Village.*

*After many years, a mighty fire swept through the village, killing two of the Pidgey and wounding the third. The survivors were so sad that they named their new home after their lost brother: Pidgeon Village.*

*Eventually, more Pokemon came, and Pidgeon Village grew into a city. When Humans finally arrived on the shores of Kanto, they called it Vermillion City.*

*I am an Umbreon. My great ancestor was born in a cave near Vermillion City, where he lived for some time before going out into the world. While he was gone, his home was invaded by a group of humans who set up camp there. Upon his return, my ancestor attacked them and drove them away. They called him 'the Dark One', and tales of his battle with the men have been passed down through the family ever since.*

*One day I found myself drawn to a Leafeon I met online. I had heard rumors that she lived in Vermillion City, but I didn't know how big she really was until we met face-to-face.*

*She is quite small... barely larger than my paw! But despite her size, I knew our bond would be strong. I love her very much.*

*My family has always lived in caves around Vermillion City, so it's not surprising that we continued to do so after Humans arrived here hundreds of years ago. Humans did not like us very much because of this - they tried to drive us away from our homes many times over the years - but we were too smart for them! We won every battle, and so remained free to live our lives as we saw fit.*
