When the door swung open, they stopped their fighting. When the man entered the room, Ajax and Eric watched as he threw a glance at each of them. Ajax held his knife in his hands, ready to strike if this guy was an enemy. He didn't look like one, though. He was wearing a suit, with a red tie that was neatly knotted around his neck. His hair was thinning but still plentiful; it had been combed neatly and parted on one side. He had some stubble on his face that looked like it could have grown into a full beard if left alone for a few days. He was tall, although not as tall as Ajax or Eric themselves.

"What's going on here?" the man asked them both. His voice was deep and commanding, the type of voice that you would expect from someone who wore a suit like he did. The two brothers slowly separated from one another - their fight hadn't really started yet so it wasn't necessary for them to stop - and looked at the man who'd just walked into their shared apartment without any regard for whether or not he would be welcomed there. "Are you two siblings?"

"Yeah," answered Ajax, putting away his knife in his pocket.

"Yeah," Eric replied after him, taking off his gasmask to reveal his slightly unshaved face and black hair that fell over his eyes. The three men looked at each other while they waited for someone to say something else; after a moment passed with no more words being exchanged, however, the man in the suit decided to take action himself instead of waiting any longer. "And who are you? We don't know you."

"I am John Brimstone," he introduced himself while gesturing towards himself with both of his hands. "I'm an agent of the Fatui Harbingers." They watched him carefully again as he took off his own gasmask and revealed a clean-shaven face underneath it; he was grinning at them both when he noticed their curious glances directed towards him. "I came here because I received some information about your brother Ajax here." He gestured towards the rebel once more before turning back towards Eric himself. "He killed one of our agents last night."

Ajax watched as Eric turned pale in front of him; he found himself thinking that this man in front of him must have been very strong if he managed to scare someone like Eric just by walking into their house and talking about death to them both.

"Why did you do that?" John asked directly after noticing how distressed Eric had become; Ajax noticed how tense John's shoulders were as well, telling him that John was prepared to defend himself against an attack at any moment now even though they didn't seem particularly threatening right now. The question seemed to snap Eric out of whatever trance he'd been falling into only moments ago; shaking his head softly, he responded with what sounded almost like a whisper: "I don't know why I did it... I'm sorry." Seeing how scared Eric looked made Ajax feel bad for him; even though they were twins and had always been close as children growing up together, Ajax wasn't used to seeing his brother looking so confused and upset about something like this before today.

"So why are you here?" Ajax asked John directly after seeing how shaken Eric looked at seeing him get reprimanded by this stranger in their home. Even though he wasn't sure if this stranger might try to hurt him if he said anything even slightly offensive towards him, Ajax knew that he couldn't keep being quiet forever or else John might think something strange about him instead of focusing on the problem with Eric instead. It would probably be best for everyone involved if John didn't start paying attention to him too much instead of focusing on correcting Eric's behavior instead of letting it continue unchecked like this; plus, there was always a chance that by remaining silent right now Ajax could get some information out of John instead of simply listening to what John wanted to tell them instead of what they wanted to say themselves first!

"We need you two men," answered John after giving Ajax's question some thought; turning towards Eric again, he continued: "We need you because we want you to join us." He paused afterwards so that those words would sink in before continuing: "You owe us your loyalty now; we saved your life today already so you'll listen and obey us." Watching how Eric shook his head again made it clear enough that there was no way he'd agree with this without having any kind of say in the matter... but maybe that wouldn't be true for long!
