Food Frenzy: George, Jerry, and Kramer's Out-of-this-World Adventure
·
Published 3/5/2023Facing both their longing for home and the locals' suspicion of their miraculous appetites, three intergalactic adventurers – George, Jerry, and Kramer – must battle their way through an all-you-can-eat buffet in an ancient, religiously-diverse alien galaxy in an attempt to satisfy their insatiable hunger and their desire for nostalgic familiarity.
The four of them sit around the table, the smell of food in the air, biting their fingernails.
“I can’t believe we let ourselves get caught up in this mess again.” George says under his breath as he looks out of the window at the orange-red sky with a single sun that hangs overhead. “This is no different from the episode where Jerry bought Elaine a white dress for her birthday and she spilled ice cream on it.”
Kramer begins to chuckle at the thought of this, “Yeah, now I can see why you said it was a bad idea to eat all that lobster.” He chuckles some more until he starts to cough violently, “What did they say they were gonna do to us anyway?”
Jerry takes a deep breath and responds, “They said they were going to eat us alive.”
George lets out an exasperated sigh, “We should have known better than to try and steal some of their food. We were so close too! It looked like we had found our way back just in time for dinner! I wonder how long it took them to figure out what we were up to?”
Kramer continues trying to suppress his laughter as he tries to answer George's question, “Well, I think we might have given ourselves away when we started eating everything that wasn't nailed down and then ran out screaming when we saw those bugs on our plates. And I don't think those guys liked us looking into their records either...at least not as much as they liked us for dinner.” Kramer humorously glances up at George who seems absolutely terrified of this prospect.
Jerry gives Kramer a concerned look and asks him, “Do you think they're still coming?”
Kramer looks up at Jerry with a worried face and responds, “I hope not *sniff*. We've got a lot of people to feed here if they don't show soon but...” His voice trails off as he looks down at his empty plate with longing. “I don't think I could go another day without eating another one of these hamburgers! These are great! You know how hard it is to get good food when we're on the road? This is really nice! I wish we could stay here forever!” His expression changes quickly from excitement back to fear as he realizes what he just said and adds under his breath, “oh geez...that didn't come out right...did it?”
Jerry gives Kramer a look that shows that he's already realized what Kramer has just implied about staying there for good. He slowly turns his head over towards George who seems just as horrified by the thought as Jerry does. They both turn back towards Kramer who is nervously looking back and forth between them trying not to make eye contact while pulling on his collar nervously. The three of them sit in silence for a moment before Jerry finally breaks the tension by saying:
“We can't eat another bite! Look at us! We're stuffed! There's no way any of us will be able to fit anything else in our stomachs today! And we need all the energy we can get if these guys are actually going to show up here tomorrow morning like they promised! We'll have enough time tonight though since none of us can sleep anyway because the food made us so full...all four of us will be awake for another 24 hours anyways so why not use that time wisely?! Let's try and see if there is anything else around here that might help us get home or keep these guys from showing up here tomorrow morning while also giving us something useful to do with our time so we won't be bored while you try and find something else edible later on! We'll leave first thing in the morning after breakfast and cross our fingers that these guys take longer than usual getting ready for bed tonight! Oh my god...the stuff they gave us last night has got me feeling really paranoid right now...do you think they actually meant what they said about eating their prisoners? C'mon guys...let's just calm down okay? Look I know everyone feels bad about losing those two ham sandwiches but if we give up now then all that food will have been for nothing! If we can't find some way out of this mess by tomorrow then...well...*shrug*...we'll probably end up having lunch together tomorrow anyway so let's try and enjoy this food while we can okay?! Alright let's go look around outside before it gets dark!"
The three men push their chairs back from the table with difficulty due to how stuffed their stomachs feel from all that delicious food and start making their way towards the exit door. They open it slowly so as not to attract any unwanted attention from whoever may be waiting outside when suddenly Kramer stops dead in his tracks with a horrified expression plastered across his face as he notices something off about his surroundings:
"Uhhh guys...what year is this?" He asks nobody in particular while pointing down at his feet which are resting on something soft and spongy beneath them. "I don't remember this floor being like this last night." He reaches down with one hand while still holding onto his chair with his other hand and pulls away a thin layer of some sticky substance underneath him revealing more spongy material hidden beneath it; A quick realization hits him almost immediately afterwards: "Oh my god...this stuff is everywhere!" He puts both hands flat against the ground beside him and pushes himself back away from it quickly before standing up straight again whilst wiping whatever was left clinging onto his arms off onto his pants leg: "It looks like there's some kind of pile in front of every doorway too!" As soon as Kramer says this George immediately steps forward only slightly ahead of Jerry who had frozen where he stood upon hearing Kramer say this and peeks around the corner into the hallway leading towards their room: "You're right Kramer," he says under his breath shaking his head in disgust as he walks back towards him after inspecting further into their room: "It looks like someone used some kind of blue slime or something instead of tape on all those doors over there too." He glances over at Jerry who appeared similarly disgusted by seeing all this slime but more perplexed by what he was actually looking at: "I dunno what they used but I sure hope it doesn't stick around long enough for me to find out."
