“Are you kidding me?!” George exclaimed, staring at his daughter in disbelief. “You’re Spider-Woman?!”

Gwen winced at the volume of her father’s voice, glancing around their apartment to make sure none of their neighbors had heard him. She had known that revealing her secret identity as Spider-Woman to her father would be a shock, but she hadn’t expected this level of reaction.

“Dad, keep it down,” Gwen hissed, closing the front door behind them. “We don’t want anyone else to find out.”

George ran a hand through his hair, pacing back and forth across the small living room. “How long have you been doing this?” he asked, his voice filled with concern.

“A few months,” Gwen admitted. “I didn’t tell you because I knew you’d react like this.”

“Damn right I’m reacting like this!” George snapped. “You could get hurt—or worse! Why didn’t you come to me for help?”

Gwen sighed, sinking onto the couch and motioning for her father to join her. She knew he was just worried about her, but it was hard not to feel defensive under his intense gaze.

“I didn’t want you to worry,” she said quietly. “And besides… I thought it would be safer if no one knew who I was.”

George sat down next to his daughter, running a hand over his face tiredly. “Safer? Gwen, do you have any idea how dangerous this is? You’re just a kid—no offense—and you’re going up against criminals and supervillains who could kill you without breaking a sweat.”

“I can handle myself,” Gwen insisted stubbornly.

“I know you can,” George said gently. “But that doesn’t mean you should have to do it alone.”

Gwen looked up at her father in surprise. He had always been supportive of her dreams, but she hadn’t expected him to react like this. She had thought he would be angry or disappointed, not… proud.

“You want to help me?” she asked, her voice filled with hope.

George nodded, his eyes shining with determination. “If you’ll let me,” he said. “I can’t stand the thought of you out there risking your life every night without anyone to watch your back.”

Gwen threw her arms around her father in a tight hug, feeling tears prickle at the corners of her eyes. “Thank you,” she whispered.

George hugged his daughter back just as tightly, a mix of emotions swirling through his mind. He was scared for Gwen’s safety, worried about what could happen if they were caught—but more than anything else, he was grateful for the opportunity to be there for his daughter when she needed him most.

“Okay,” George said after a moment, pulling away from the hug and wiping at his eyes. “So… where do we start?”

Gwen smiled at her father, feeling a surge of excitement and gratitude that threatened to overwhelm her. She couldn’t believe that he was really going to do this—join her in the fight against crime as her partner and ally.

“We start with training,” Gwen said firmly. “I’ll teach you everything I know about being Spider-Woman—and together, we’ll become unstoppable.”

As George listened to Gwen outline their training plan, he couldn’t help but feel a surge of pride and determination. He might not have any superpowers or fancy gadgets like his daughter did—but he had something even more important: love for his family and an unwavering desire to protect them from harm.

And armed with those things, George knew that there was nothing he couldn’t do.
