Rain is a peculiar phenomenon. It possesses the power to create floods, extinguish fires, take lives, and save them simultaneously. Rain can be a welcome event, such as when camping, serving as a means to cleanse the dust that has settled upon the garments and bodies of those who venture outdoors.

To Claudo, however, rain held no such charm; it meant merely cold dampness as he navigated the forest, located in France according to his knowledge of directions. He needed to follow a river until he discovered the cave inhabited by the demon lord he was tasked with vanquishing. The amalgamation of walking with heavy weaponry upon his back only served to exacerbate his already dire circumstances.

Claudo would have halted his journey to establish a camp earlier if it weren't for a significant reason – today marked the anniversary of his wedding to his late wife, Celine. Five years prior, they chose to intertwine their destinies and commence a family. Despite the swift passage of time since then, Claudo could not shake the nagging sensation that he hadn't devoted an ample amount of time to her. Moreover, he knew she would not approve of him wasting time grieving for her during this critical period. As a result, Claudo refrained from setting up camp, recognizing that locating the cave would require at least another day or two of travel.

"I will not let my grief cloud my mind," Claudo resolved as he continued his trek along the riverbank. With newfound determination, he pushed onward for hours until exhaustion took over. Seeking refuge behind a tree, he sat down and soon succumbed to the realm of sleep.

Upon awakening, Claudo discerned that darkness had enveloped the outside world, and his journey to the demon lord's residence was far from over. Undeterred, he progressed through the night, resuming his travels through the following day. When night fell once more, he concealed himself from a group of patrolling goblins who had been scouring the forest for sustenance.

"I will not give up," Claudo repeated mentally as he hid behind a bush nestled near a small stream that merged into the river – his constant companion for the past three days.

Claudo's subsequent journey was fraught with challenges as goblins eagerly sought to consume him. He fled from them under the scorching sun in a sparsely forested plain, devoid of shelter from the heat. Realizing the danger that the goblins posed even at night, he concluded that rest would only come at great risk. Nevertheless, he endeavored to make the most of the limited opportunities he had to replenish his energy reserves.

Ultimately, Claudo ventured far enough from the goblin-infested regions to reach an area that appeared untouched for what seemed like centuries. He found himself in an overgrown clearing encircled by massive trees and mysterious stone pillars that towered above. These ancient structures were arranged in a square formation and exhibited various forms: some bore human visages wielding weapons, while others took on animal shapes sporting horns pointed upward or downward. Although these figures were unusual and distinct from their present-day counterparts, their purpose in this clearing remained enigmatic.

Claudo pondered whether it was wise to travel here. Had he truly escaped the danger of goblin attacks, or had he stumbled into a magic-protected area? Perhaps this was the site where demons once resided but had since abandoned? Despite uncertainty looming over him, Claudo resolved to continue searching until he discovered the demon lord's lair. With little option remaining, he resigned to examining each pillar one by one, hoping that something interesting might transpire - perhaps even the unveiling of the demon lord's dwelling itself. Regardless of potential threats, Claudo's quest persisted, fueled by resolute determination and the hope that a revelation hid amongst the ancient and moss-covered stones.
