Alex and His Anthropomorphic Tribe

The day started out like any other. I woke up to the sounds of Max snoring and the sound of his heavy paws stamping on the hardwood floor. I yawned, stretched and then opened my eyes.

The human sized room we lived in was small and had a low ceiling. It was a wonder how it ever managed to accomodate the 12 foot tall great Dane who used to live here. I looked around at my other pets and loved them all dearly. Today was a special day for all of us. Today, Duke - the tiny human who lived with Luna - was going to have a birthday party for his girlfriend, Ivory. He had been working hard this entire week so that he could buy her a special present.

I got dressed and then walked down the flight of stairs into what used to be the kitchen of their house. They were still trying to find new ways to fit their giant bodies into normal sized rooms but today they had succeeded because with just some careful planning they were able to pull it off.

The large dogs were standing by the counter eating breakfast while Tyrese, the giant tiger, sat on one of the chairs munching on his food with one hand while reading the newspaper with the other. Cooper, Duke's best friend and also a border collie stood near him as if he was afraid that he might get splashed or something by accidentally making contact with Tyrese's food or drink. I could tell that he liked him but he was still pretty shy about it.

As soon as I walked through the door Max put down his bowl and rushed over to me but instead of jumping on me like he usually does he simply pawed at my pants instead, which meant that he wanted me to lift him up so that he can rest his head on my shoulder and be carried around like that for a while. "Good morning Max" I said as I lifted him up so that I could carry him in my arms while walking over to the table where everyone else was sitting down "Did you sleep well?" Max nodded happily as if confirming that indeed he did sleep well last night. He always slept naked because even though being naked is considered 'inappropriate' when you're a pet dog, being naked never bothered Max at all because after all, he was just proud of how good his body looked "Yes Max, you do look very good" I said smiling as i put him down on the table where there was a chair for him so that he could sit next to me.

As I sat down next to Max we heard footsteps from upstairs and we realized that Duke and Ivory were awake too "Good morning Duke" we both said in unison and then let out a little bark which made Duke smile at us while Ivory simply let out a big yawn "Oh boy, are we really doing this again? We haven't seen each other in almost two weeks!" she said lazily as she slowly made her way down the stairs "We know babygirl, but this is your boyfriend's birthday after all" Duke replied with a smile while scratching behind Ivory's ears playfully making her squirm "You spoil me too much" she replied before suddenly giving Duke an affectionate lick right across his face leaving behind some saliva which dangled from his chin "Oh gross!" Duke exclaimed before wiping it off with his sleeve "So what do you want to do today?" Ivory asked curiously as she nuzzled against Duke's arm lovingly "Well firstly we should go meet Alex" Duke replied before looking around at us all and waving at us greeting us before continuing "Then we're going shopping together" Ivory smiled brightly as she looked around at us all adoringly before asking: "What about you guys? Do you want to come along?" We both shook our heads no in unison before answering: "We don't need anything" Duke gave us both an understanding nod before saying: "Well alright then"
