Riverside Redemption: Thor Jensen's Glorious Journey
·
Published 5/8/2023Fueled by guilt and doubt, Thor Jensen, an ambitious politician from Riverside, America, embarks on a perilous journey to discover the darkest parts of himself and the country that so fiercely supports him as he strives to survive a catastrophic seizure and rebound to full health.

*The first step to fixing a problem is admitting there's a problem.*
Thor was sitting in his study reading an article in the paper about his recent seizure. He had been very sick for over a week, unable to handle the stress of being president. The doctor's said it was some type of virus that was taking over his body. They just kept giving him drugs and hoping he'd get better. So far it wasn't working.
It started with a bad headache and the TV flickering on in his room. Then he got the chills, then he started throwing up. He tried calling his wife but she wasn't picking up. Last time that happened he ended up in jail for fighting one of her exes, so he decided against calling her again... at least until this passed.
As he continued reading the article in the paper, he heard a knock at the door. A voice called out from the other side, "Sir? Are you awake?"
"Yes," replied Thor as he stood up to answer it. "I am awake." Panicked that this might be something serious, he rushed to the door to open it before whoever was standing there could knock again. When he opened it though all he saw was his press secretary standing there with a smile on her face. "Oh thank God! I thought you were dead!" Steve exclaimed as she ran over and wrapped her arms around him. "Hey! What's wrong?" Asked Thor as he backed away from her, realizing what she had just said. "You have another seizure! We're going straight back to D.C." She said as she took his arm and began to walk towards the elevator door at the end of the hall... which was halfway closed by a person who was holding it open for them to use. Steve yanked Thor forward, causing him to bump into this man... who they then walked right through without even noticing him or having any kind of interaction with him whatsoever. As they made their way through the elevator doors, they were surrounded by all these people who begin cheering and chanting his name loudly as they walked through them... all completely oblivious to anyone else who might be standing around them... except for one man who also begins chanting Thor's name as well ("I'll see you in Riverside!") but gets quickly shoved away by security before anyone can notice that there are now two different men both shouting out Thor's name at once (which should be impossible).
The next thing Steve knew they were walking down 5th Avenue and people kept stopping them to get selfies with Thor and asking him questions like, "What do you think about President Trump?" or "Do you think we'll beat Russia in the next election?" Thor would pause and give long winded answers to each question while Steve stood behind him trying desperately not to interrupt him... but failing every time because she always ended up yelling at everyone that they needed to let him go somewhere quiet so he could rest... which usually caused everyone around them to yell back at her telling her if she didn't like being president then maybe she should just quit already! This led to many violent arguments between herself and everyone else around them which only proved pointless since every time things would settle down someone new would come along screaming more accusations at her and making things worse than ever before!
Eventually after stopping for lunch (which secretly caused Steve to throw up), they made their way back inside Air Force One where Steve finally managed to convince everyone surrounding them that they needed time alone if Thor was going to get better (though she still never actually admitted that anything was wrong with him!). Once everyone had finally left Air Force One, Thor pulled Steve aside and told her that he had read an article earlier about himself saying he had another seizure (even though they weren't treating it like one) and wanted her advice on what he should do about it.
