Ting's Iron Age Exodus
·
Published 5/17/2023Five brave friends, led by the intrepid Ting, set off on a treacherous mystery-filled mission to uncover a hidden trove of arcane artifacts on a distant, forgotten island, and must battle against eerie forces and untold secrets to find the ultimate prize - knowledge and power - in this cosmic horror tale set in the Iron Age.

The five friends set out to find the treasure of the cursed island. The treasure was said to bring ruin and destruction to all of Eurasia. They believed they could find it before the curse manifested itself. They had no idea what they were in for.
They sailed north along the shoreline, searching for anything that could be considered a clue. They had been at sea for nearly three days with nothing in sight but sea. Ting was beginning to lose hope when she noticed something on the horizon. She pointed it out to her crew, who were as confused as she was. It looked like towers, but there were far too many of them for it to be any kind of settlement. As they got closer, they noticed that each one was different, with varying styles and shapes. But even more importantly, they were all made of a strange metal that only reflected the sunlight at certain angles.
"How are we going to approach? We can't go ashore if there's a chance we'll get attacked by whatever lives on this island." Rong had been very serious about his role as captain of the ship and he was being very cautious now that they were nearing their destination.
"We might not have much of a choice." Ting looked back at him with an intense gaze, trying to convey her next words as strongly as possible: "I'm going ashore."
Rong opened his mouth as if he wanted to argue, but he knew better than to try and stop her once she'd made up her mind. The others simply stood there in silence, watching the strange structures grow larger in front of them while they thought about what could possibly live here. None of them knew what these buildings were or why they existed, but they all knew that whatever it was could pose a threat to their lives. The hardest part would be waiting until nightfall before going ashore; none of them wanted to risk being spotted in daylight by some predatory creature when they couldn't see it coming.
The sun began its slow descent behind the horizon and everyone grabbed what weapons they had brought along with them before heading off toward land in the rowboat that had brought them from their ship on the shoreline. They stayed close together so that no one got lost or injured during the trip and because Ting didn't want any arguments between her friends about how best to approach their target. She was sure that everyone felt as anxious as she did right now, maybe even more so since she was always foolhardy enough to charge headfirst into danger whenever someone threatened those she cared about; this time seemed no different from any other time when she'd acted impulsively before. As they drew closer and closer until they could start making out details among the structures ahead of them, she couldn't help but feel like she had walked into a nightmare world where the buildings themselves seemed to be observing them with curiosity before turning away again with disinterest once they realized their presence meant nothing to them.
Determined to uncover the secrets of this cursed island, Ting led her friends through the eerie landscape, not allowing the haunting atmosphere to deter her from their goal. She knew that they must find the treasure to ensure peace would return to Eurasia, and she was resolved to vanquish any monsters they encountered along the way.
They arrived at the shoreline after what seemed like an eternity of rowing through water peppered with reflections of towers jutting out from shore and noticed how still everything seemed; none of those strange creatures were lurking about anywhere nearby nor were there any ancient ruins for them to search through for clues on where their treasure might be hidden amidst whatever riches these beings hoarded in their possession. They didn't know what else to do except walk along the shoreline until something caught their attention further ahead: a small opening in the ground hidden beneath some fog-covered trees growing out from above it so thickly that anyone could easily miss it entirely if not for something pointing straight towards it like a signpost along an unfamiliar road leading toward somewhere unknown just far enough away that you don't remember why you ever went looking for it in the first place!
Rong insisted on staying outside while his friends ventured inside the hidden passage, just in case an unknown beast came rushing towards them and needed someone standing guard outside to alert everyone else before meeting its untimely end against the fearless crew. The others agreed with him, though none of them wanted him taking such a dangerous risk considering his importance during their journey across Eurasia; they couldn't bear the thought of losing him after everything he had already done. Rong drew his sword as if preparing himself for battle, waiting anxiously outside until someone reassured him everything was okay and whether or not he should join them inside where it was safe.
