"Hail, oh violent avatar of destruction and righteous retribution! I am but a humble mortal who seeks your wisdom and guidance. I was told by the sage that you were able to answer the most difficult of questions."

The towering dark figure turned slowly from it's gaze at the burning city below. It's great black eyes stared into his own, like a shark looking into the side of a boat. "You wish to know this?"

"Yes", Azambo responded kneeling in front of the statue of Vaayan, "I do not understand why you have brought fire and destruction upon our land. Why has your visage guided these men in the fashioning of weapons of destruction? Why have men turned their backs on righteousness and chosen to follow such wickedness?"

"It is simple mortal", stated Vaayan, "Your people are weak, they lack strength, courage, will power." The god of war began pacing back and forth across the top of the temple. "They seek the easy way out, to worship this false idol in their hearts. They seek to break free from their chains, to be free from responsibility. They wish to live for themselves, for their own desires. But they are weak, they are not strong enough to handle freedom. So I have given them what they desire; I have given them fear. Fear is a powerful motivator. Fear will make them embrace order. Fear will make them grasp onto virtues they would otherwise ignore." The statue stopped pacing and looked down at the mortal sitting prostrate before it's feet. "Fear will make them strong again."

"But why must it be so violent? You see even now your followers are murdering my brethren within our temples!" Azambo shouted in anger gesturing towards one of his people who was being dragged by two large men towards a pile of dead bodies stacked neatly against the outer wall of the temple.

"This is war! Destruction! This is what makes them strong! This is what pushes them beyond their limits! This is what breaks down all things that stand before us! This-" Suddenly there was a disturbance amongst the crowd outside as another body was thrown unceremoniously onto the pile with a loud thud and cracking sound.

"There is more than one kind of peace!", Azambo yelled back at the angry god standing above him, "Peace can be found in virtue! Peace can be attained through thy good works!"

The statue laughed aloud once more, "You speak nonsense mortal!" With that it spun around on it's heel and began walking away from Azambo towards the edge of its dais overlooking the city below. The priest rose quickly to his feet and ran after it shouting above it's voice which boomed throughout the city like a massive drum. "You speak madness! If you continue to spread such lies we shall all die."

Vaayan turned around quickly, "And that would please you wouldn't it?! That would bring your weak pathetic people exactly what they want!" He bellowed up at his only true challenger in this realm whose mere presence threatened his hold over these lands. His influence had been growing thanks to Azambo's actions who had been fighting hard against his minions upon this land for months now but he still could not discover where he had been getting his strength from to fight back so ferociously against those he controlled within this realm. It seemed now though that he may have finally discovered something useful about this man after all these years...
