Zach watched the dolphins swim and play in the ocean. It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining and there wasn't a cloud in the sky.

The dolphins could be seen jumping out of the water splashing each other with their tails. They were having a great time, and it was hard not to smile as he watched them. Zach looked up at the sky, blue as far as he could see, no doubt the same blue that had been there when humans were still around to see it. That thought brought a wave of sadness to him. All his friends and family gone now. He took a deep breath and forced himself to forget about that for now.

There was something special about today that caught his attention more than ever before. The dolphins seemed more active than usual, jumping and splashing each other even more than usual, but they also seemed more focused on something, almost like they were looking for something or someone. They left the ocean and began swimming beyond where they normally would go into shallow water, then even past that into sandier areas where most never went. Many of them were gathering together in groups of 15-20 individuals where they would sit quietly for a few minutes before splitting off again to go seek others who hadn't yet joined their group.

Zach knew better than to interfere while they did this, he would just have to wait it out and see what happened next. He sat cross-legged on the beach watching them intently until one of the dolphins broke out of its group and began swimming straight towards him! The dolphin looked like it wanted to talk to him so he stayed quiet as it approached. As soon as it got within speaking distance it began talking excitedly about how much fun they'd had playing in the ocean today, how happy it was that all of its friends were back together again after so long apart, etc etc. This is what dolphins did when they were happy; they talked about how happy they are until you wanted to kill yourself from boredom.

After several minutes of this Zach couldn't take any more "happy talk" and interrupted: "What did you guys find? Did you find what you were looking for?"

"Oh yes!" The dolphin replied happily. "But we didn't find anything in the ocean today." The dolphin began moving toward deeper water again with a big grin on its face as if that explained everything.

Hm... Maybe they found an old fish carcass somewhere? Maybe some other sea creature died and floated to shore? No idea what else could have caused such a stir though since there hadn't been any wildlife in miles around here for years now since humans had all disappeared anyway so this really was special!
