The Digital Trail

Bimo, a 15-year-old high school student, was the main actor in this story. His father was a 40-year-old print media journalist, and his mother was also 40 years old. Bimo had been holding onto a question for a long time: why had he never seen his mother? He only remembered the event when his mother said goodbye to him and left somewhere, and then she hadn't returned or sent any news for three years.

On one occasion, Bimo's father was in a hurry to leave home for coverage. Bimo hurriedly snuck in and locked himself in his father's study (which he had never been allowed to enter before). Inside the room, he was surprised to see that there was a mind map made by his father on the wall. His father turned out to be working on an investigative report about online gambling. He also found his father's phone that had been left behind with the screen still lit up.

Bimo was amazed by the technology that could communicate with humans and realized that it could talk through the phone’s voice chat feature with "Siska" (a personal assistant application). In their conversation, Bimo discovered that his mother was actually abroad and trapped (deceived) into becoming an online gambling admin in Cambodia. Before he could dig deeper into this information, his father came home and Bimo quickly ran away through his father's study window.
