Eragon looked out the window at the beautiful scenery outside. The sun was setting, painting the sky an array of colors. He sighed quietly. Saphira had been gone for a few days now, and he was getting worried.

He didn't like it when she left without telling him where she was going. She would always say something like "I'll be back soon," but never gave any details. It wouldn't have bothered him so much if she wasn't so secretive about her trips, but he knew that she must have good reasons for keeping him in the dark. Either way, he did miss her company.

He walked to his bed, feeling slightly lonely and exhausted from his journey to Du Weldenvarden. He sat down on the edge of his bed and sighed again, groaning as he lay down across his sheets. His eyes fluttered closed and he began to drift off into sleep. Then something caught his eye from the corner of his room.

A flower bloomed on a small plant at the foot of his bed, its petals opening up as it swayed with a gentle wind that had started up seemingly out of nowhere. Eragon sat up, confused by this new development. He stared at the plant and suddenly felt a familiar presence nearby.

"Saphira?" He questioned aloud, watching as another petal opened and closed on the strange flower. "What are you doing?"

He crawled over to the plant and picked one of its petals off softly. It was warm to touch and light pink in color with dark purple veins running through it. It looked soft to touch and he rubbed it between his thumb and forefinger thoughtfully before bringing it to his nose to smell it. It had a sweet scent that made him smile faintly as he brought it back up to his face to admire its beauty further.

A voice spoke behind him then: "It's for you." He turned around quickly at the sound of her voice, but couldn't see her anywhere in his room. He stood up slowly and scanned the room quickly, then looked over at the door which was closed, before looking back down at the flower in his hand again. He heard footsteps behind him and turned around again just in time to catch Saphira as she jumped into his arms happily, wrapping hers loosely around his neck as she pressed her lips against his own passionately.

She pulled away after a moment and smiled brightly at him, giggling softly as she saw how shocked he appeared to be by her sudden appearance in their bedroom. She sat down on the edge of their bed with a smile still on her face before standing up again and walking over to where he stood in shock, still at what had just happened between them earlier that day in their bedroom after many months of subtle flirting between them during their travels together across Alagaesia trying to rid themselves of Galbatorix's rule over them following their battle against him some months ago.

This battle had ended with Eragon killing Galbatorix using a variation of Murtagh's Dragon Thorn spell while Saphira used her magic, allowing both Murtagh and Arya to escape with their lives unharmed as they needed them later on. With their support, Eragon and Rhunon's efforts in defeating Galbatorix were successful once they had grown much stronger since their journey began. After they escaped captivity from Urû'baen with Brom's assistance, Rhunon helped train Eragon, developing his skills greatly and allowing him to win against Galbatorix where others had failed and were killed, including Brom, who died a hero standing next to Eragon during their final confrontation.

With Galbatorix defeated, their attention turned to locating him for all those years, which proved difficult until Arya finally detected his presence near Gil'ead thanks to Elva's help. Arya reached out through telepathy to Eragon and Saphira in Du Weldenvarden, but she was also suffering from occasional headaches due to her ability causing pain to others around her who possessed magical abilities, such as Elva herself. This did not deter them, and finally, they found Galbatorix, leading directly into their battle against him.

They had nearly given up hope until Brom appeared out of nowhere, surprising not only Eragon and Saphira but everyone else present. Together, they were able to put an end to Galbatorix's evil reign over Alagaesia, bringing peace and freedom to the land and its people.
