Robbing Fate: The Betrayal of Outlaws

The four outlaws, not too sure what was ahead of them, made their way to the farmstead on a humid evening. It was Xavier, Ivan, Jose and Aaron on the brink of their greatest exploit so far; their plan to bring ended the wealth of the family that lived on this particular farmstead and said good riddance. After rummaging through it; belongings, pockets, cupboards and the like – finding many secrets of the past – and finally coming across the location of the buried treasure. Knowing that this would be the biggest investment towards their usually impoverished lifestyle, each was ecstatic. But suddenly, unexpectedly and unbeknownst to the group of four, a group of heavily-armed law-enforcers emerged from the shadows. They had bided their time as one of the four, the so-called “betrayer” of their foursome – revealed their plans to the authorities. Trapped, Xavier, Ivan and Jose found themselves amidst a cross-fire; Running away quickly and heading towards the treasured potential El Dorado they sought in order to escape was the only solution left.

The trio raced every second of their lives, nothing would get between them and the Treasue, except, of course... the law-enforcers who seemed to be all along their trail. A lengthy chase creating tug-of-war between the law-enforcers and the three, the three outlaws outnumbered but with the little option left to them was the quickest escape. Still, the progress bar seemed slow and hardly effective – Xavier only had enough of it and felt the desperate hope for success slowly pulling away from her grasps. However, when the trio finally managed their escape, crossing the lake shore, muddy and with empty pockets but rich in hope; it seemed that their plan was yielding remarkable wonders - just as Xavier had envisioned.

The three did it; by reaching the secret hidden treasure, escaping and reaching their safe house at Damascus Manorial. But then again came the hammer-down. It seemed that their adversary, the law-enforcers, had managed to follow them to the premises and they were waiting outside the manorial with intent to apprehend the three outlaws.

soon began, with a heavy exchange of fire and between the three of them, their tactically wits managed to outmanoeuvre their enemies and come out as victors, fleeing the scene but in victory and with the heartfelt joy of saving Xavier especially. Returning back, elated, to the pack and arms of their foursome, the three outlaws realized that being an outlaw wasn't just tough having a heart was an even tougher option. With nothing but the defeated law-enforcers and the emptied manorial left, the trio was grateful for yet another spectacular episode in their short-lived outlaw lives.

The group never did locate the buried treasure but by their resilient efforts, received a victory and freedom unimportant precious commodities for a group of outlaws. Ultimately, it was a brief glimpse into the nature of outlaw lives, actions, pain and camaraderie between this group of soon strangers; a story that showed that despite of all being wrapped and deep divides – between the law-enforcers and the lawbreakers, the things in life that mattered weren’t of monetary possessions but of the memories and moments one creates in life and more importantly the people who they surround themselves with.

And with that the story comes to a close.
