The Assassin's Whisper

Kevin was in training at the temple one day when Izik approached him and said, "Kevin, Kevin VII has moved."

Kevin sprang up with a sudden look, dashed downstairs to the cellar, and looked hopefully at VII, clutching his wounds, as these words came out of VII's mouth: "I feel... feel..."

He closed his eyes and lay in agony.

Kevin couldn't suppress his emotions and pain because VII had been injured during the assassination attempt, and their target, Arnor, was still alive.

All he wanted was revenge because the cause he believed in had worn him out.

While VII was recovering, he roamed the city rooftops, scanning the streets to catch his target. Just as he was leaping from one roof to another, he spotted Arnor.

The street was dark, and he quietly approached from the shadows. Suddenly, he held his knife to Arnor's throat, and with a soft, subdued voice, he said,

"Not the end," as Arnor breathed his last.

Kevin, who had been gazing into his eyes for a moment stood still for a while then turned and left. The darkness had taken him and he disappeared from sight.
