“Where the hell is he?” The man grumbled, looking at the sun that was quickly setting.

“Well...where are you?” The voice of a young boy echoed through his mind, making the man wince and look around frantically, trying to find the speaker. “Somewhere in the woods. I can feel it.”

The man picked up a branch from the ground and walked forward into a clearing. He looked around as he saw nothing but trees, then placed the branch on the floor and looked down at it, the branch rising up into the air without him touching it, seemingly pulled upwards by an invisible force. “Damn boy! Show yourself!” The man shouted angrily.

A small figure dropped out of a tree branch above him, falling about 20 feet and landing with a loud thud next to him, making him jump back in surprise. “Ow...that hurt.” The boy groaned as he rubbed his head, looking over at him with a frown on his face.

“You have guts kid, showing yourself to me like that.” The man said as he stared down at himself, seeing that he had no weapon other than his hand. “I could kill you right now if I wanted to, but I'm curious as to why you're here.”

The boy stood up and brushed off his pants before walking over toward him and standing right in front of him. “I sensed you coming here...said something about revenge? Have someone who wronged you?”

The man took a step back and put his hands behind his back as he looked up at the boy before him, realizing that this boy was very small for his age and probably couldn't be more than 11 or 12 years old, even though he could read minds like an adult would be able to do. “What are you?” He asked curiously.

The boy shrugged as he looked around at the trees before looking back down at him again. “I don't know really...just different I guess? My family says I'm cursed for being born between two worlds like this...never fit in with humans or demi-humans. They call me things like freak and monster...not that I care what they think of me anymore though since I left home a few years ago after one of my sisters tried to kill me for being different like this...she has always been jealous of me for some reason or another though so I didn't let her get too close to finish me off anyway before running away from home during the night while everyone else was asleep.”

The man scoffed slightly and put his hands on his hips as he looked down at the boy with an amused smirk on his face. “So what's your name kid? You show up out of nowhere saying stuff like that...you must have some kind of power if you can read my mind like that huh? Does your family have any idea?”

The boy shook his head and sighed softly before shaking his head again. “No...they don't know anything about me since they don't care much once they found out they couldn't control me anymore when they kicked me out of my home years ago a few days after my 13th birthday...and yes...I do have telekinesis like that lady on TV who calls herself psychic or whatever she was called by those kids who thought she was some kind of witch or something...but I really don't need anyone else besides myself for help now anyways *chuckles* I've gotten pretty good at fending for myself over these past few years on my own actually without any training whatsoever so far as I can tell anyways...but enough about me now *smiles* what's your name mister? What did you mean by revenge earlier when you said something about someone wronging you?"
