The Time for Justice: A 17th Century Orbit Adventure
·
Published 3/21/2023In a 17th century world where sneakers and skinny jeans are unheard of, 20-year-old model Liz and her anthropomorphic bunny companion, Bouncy, must unravel a dangerous weapon of exploitation used to oppress the inhabitants and fight for justice before time runs out in this heart-pounding adventure.
Liz turned to look out the window and sighed.
The view was just as beautiful as she remembered it being when she first boarded the spaceship, but now she found herself longing for something more exciting.
She had tried talking to the other passengers but they all seemed to be die-hard fans of the current Prime Minister and were quick to tell her how much better off everyone was under his leadership.
"You should be grateful that we were able to bring you back from your primitive planet," one man had said to her after he overheard her complain about the food. "You should consider yourself lucky that you live in a world without hunger or disease."
Liz tried not to roll her eyes at this statement because she knew that it would only result in another lecture.
In fact, she really did feel grateful. After all, those who returned from Earth *were* the lucky ones. The people who remained behind on Earth were forced to live in a world ravaged by war and disease. They would have been happy to have even one person return.
It hadn't always been like that though. Before the war, Earth had been a very advanced civilization filled with so many different kinds of people living together in peace and harmony. Then, one day, the leaders of Earth decided that their planet was no longer capable of sustaining life and began sending out ships full of colonists in hopes that they could find a new home somewhere else in the universe. Unfortunately for them, their efforts were futile and within years, all of their ships had either crashed or disappeared. Eventually, only one ship remained and its crew had decided to return home after having searched for years without finding anything promising.
When they arrived back at Earth however, they discovered that their home planet had been invaded by an alien race called the Iblisians who began enslaving those who had remained behind on the planet in order to mine gold for them. They quickly overpowered those who tried to resist so those who remained hidden began sending out messages into deep space hoping that someone would hear them and come rescue them, and that's when Liz's ship finally arrived.
When she first landed on Earth, Liz joined up with some other survivors while they waited for reinforcements from outer space which never came. Eventually though, they managed to fight back against the invaders using weapons and technology taken from the Iblisians themselves. With each victory over the aliens, however, more people started dying because there simply weren't enough resources left on Earth for everyone to survive long term. Their numbers began dwindling until finally there was only one survivor left...her...and so she volunteered to leave again in hopes of finding help elsewhere in the universe since Earth no longer had anything left for them anymore except death...or so she thought anyway...but now here she was about 20 years later...on board a spaceship headed for another planet with nothing but her thoughts for company because everyone around her was too busy talking about how well off they were under Prime Minister Sylvester's leadership...
Suddenly, Liz felt someone tap her arm and looked down at what appeared to be a strange creature crouched beside her seat staring up at her with wide eyes: A small grey bunny dressed in blue jeans with red sneakers and black ears sticking out of his yellow hoodie hat! It took her a moment to realize where she had seen him before: He was right next to her when she landed on Earth! She'd only assumed he disappeared when it was revealed that he wasn't really a creature but just an illusion created by some kind of tech device used by some of the Iblisians on their soldiers so as not to alarm anyone who might see them while they fought while wearing them but still making it look like they were wearing standard soldier uniforms like any good soldier would wear! This led Liz to wonder if it was possible then that this creature could actually understand what she was saying instead of just pretending he didn't...or maybe he just recognized her somehow? No matter how many times she asked him before though, he never seemed able to respond directly so why would he start now? She supposed it didn't really matter anyway because whatever his reasons may be for coming back with her this time around meant nothing if he wasn't going to be able to talk back! Still though, it made sense that he would want to go back since he seemed pretty attached to Earth based on his reaction when she told him that they would all have no choice but leave soon but now here he was again right next to her as if he wanted nothing more than for them both not only stay but also help save this new colony they were heading towards! What could he possibly hope to gain from helping them though? Well...he did seem genuinely interested in saving this new colony so maybe he just felt bad about leaving without helping before? Or maybe his species just believed it was important for every sentient being out there help protect other life forms whenever possible because even if Earth died then there may still be others out there somewhere else perhaps even immune like humans once were against disease or attack?
"What are you doing?" Liz asked him quietly hoping not attract attention from others around them since it was hard enough already trying not attract attention from those around her when she walked around wearing skinny jeans instead of bell bottoms or skirts around town! Some people didn't even seem bothered by these differences between humans living on Earth and those returning from space though instead they seemed far more interested in claiming ownership over what little resources there were left on Earth instead! These claims became so heated that eventually wars erupted between different groups of people until finally no one else was left alive except those few who returned from space! Even though most of these people considered themselves lucky because they survived while everyone else died -those who remained behind- still felt conflicted about leaving their friends and families behind which is why some chose not return at all...which is why some stayed behind when Liz went back instead...and yet despite all this conflict over how best deal with such difficult circumstances many still saw fit try convince others how much better off everyone is under Prime Minister Sylvester's leadership! So far though there haven't been any major conflicts between different groups here yet but everyone seems very eager nonetheless for everyone else here onboard ship follow everything exactly as prescribed by Prime Minister Sylvester's laws! Ahh yes...the laws...Liz couldn't wait any longer: She needed answers!! She looked down at Bouncy again asking: "So Bouncy can you explain me why everything here seems so much more boring than when I met you last time?"
