Curse of Riverfork

Maria had given birth to two perfect children. The second one was a boy, and she named him Jake.

Jake grew up in Riverfork with his sister Sarah, who was five years his elder. He was her shadow and best friend when they were both young; however, as time passed, their relationship began to fizzle out. She went off to college while he joined the military.

One day, Sarah came back home with her boyfriend. Their father met them at the door with a big smile on his face.

"Sarah! Jake!" he yelled "you guys are finally here!" His greeting was warm, but something about it felt forced.

A few days later Maria got sick and passed away suddenly. It had been a shock to everyone, except for Sarah and Jake. They knew she had been sick for years before her death, but nobody else knew about it for some reason.

It was during that time that the dark creature attacked their house twice at night, and took Sarah's life. Her father tried to fight off the monster but could do nothing against it's strength. What was left of Sarah's body was unrecognizable and she was buried in Riverfork cemetery next to her mother's grave.

Afterward, Jake started acting strange: he stopped going out of the house, stop talking to people and even quit his job in the army without telling anyone why he did so. His father did not know what to do anymore so he decided to hire a psychologist who lived nearby -our hero- to find out what happened to his son after his daughter's death...
