Out of Los Mamugo: The Courageous Rescue Mission

The city of Los Mamugo was busy early that day. The sun shone down on the buildings and reflected off the glass in a million different directions. The smell of gasoline wafted through the air as the cars, which seemed to run on nothing but hot air, drove by. The people from the past were dressed in bright colors and accessories that made them look like they could be from another planet.

"I'm going to miss this place," said Roy as he licked his ice cream cone. "It has been good to us."

Mary and Peter were eating donuts with orange juice to wash it down. They had just finished their daily morning job at the local bank. Although they didn't know it yet, their adventure would begin today.

They had left the bank, heading down one of the main roads, when they heard a ruckus behind them. There were horses and men in strange outfits behind them!

"We've got to get out of here!" yelled Mary, as she turned her horse around and started to ride away at full speed. Roy and Peter followed her lead. They all rode into an alley and jumped off of their horses.

"Who are these guys?" asked Roy, as he looked around at their surroundings; there were some tall rocks surrounding them and it was definitely not Los Mamugo anymore.

"I don't know!" said Mary, "But I think we're safe for now." She put her hand on her chest to try to calm herself down because she was still extremely agitated from being chased by those men earlier.

Peter had been silent since they left the alleyway and headed into the forest. He had a blank expression on his face until he finally spoke up, "We have to go back."

"What?" exclaimed Mary as she turned around towards him with wide eyes, "Are you crazy? We barely got away from those guys last time!"

"I know but we can't leave Peter!" said Roy in a more serious tone than normal, "Those guys took him."

Mary knew Roy was right but she wasn't ready to let Peter go back into harms way alone with only two other people for backup. She sighs deeply before saying, "You have a point but you can't just leave me out of this decision."

Peter's expression softened upon hearing that Roy wasn't going to leave him behind so he turned towards him as well and said, "Roy's right we should go back." He paused for a moment before continuing, "I want to help save my future."

Their conversation ended quickly as they heard rustling in the trees above them. Someone or something was moving through the forest above them. They quietly stood where they were watching each other warily waiting for something else to happen.

The rustling continued above them and then suddenly stopped when they heard a loud thud against the ground making them jump backwards out of fright before realizing that whatever had fallen out of the tree was dead or unconscious because it didn't move after hitting the ground with a loud thud that shook whatever earth it landed on beneath it.. It must have been out cold because it didn't make any noise whatsoever and besides if it was awake it would have jumped up by now screaming for its life or something like that... Whatever fell out of the tree was huge too; either that or someone who was huge jumped out of that tree and then fell unconscious after landing on the ground... What kind of person jumps from a tree anyway? They wouldn't survive unless they had some sort of superhero powers... Or maybe this is just an animal... Maybe an elephant got loose from a zoo or something like that... But elephants don't jump so what is this thing? Maybe it is an alien?! Or a dinosaur? Maybe dinosaurs were brought back to life sometime during my time period?! Maybe I am in Jurassic Park right now! Oh my god this is crazy! I wonder if I should tell anyone about this or if I should keep quiet about it... But if I told someone about this then we might be able to get rich off all this money everyone will pay us to see this amazing creature! No wait! If I told someone about this all these scientists will come here and kill this creature so better keep quiet about it... But if no one knows then how do we get paid? Hmmmmm.... Well anyway I guess we'll figure all that stuff out later... Right now I need to decide whether or not we should go back home or stay here in this forest while trying to capture/avoid whatever fell out of that tree... But if we leave then won't whoever went up there notice us leaving so what are our options here? Do we stay hidden here or do we try to sneak away quietly without getting caught by whoever went up there? If we try sneaking away without getting caught then we could take one of their horses but if we stay here then God knows what will end up falling out of that tree next!! Ughhh decisions decisions decisions!! Gotta make one soon though because I'm tired and hungry!! And thirsty!! And tired!! And hungry!! And oh yeah thirsty!!"
