Five Under Fire: A Post-War German Mythic Adventure

The rain dripped down their faces as they carried the stone, through the streets and into the forest. The five figures, although they had never met before, were working together immediately and without hesitation. They felt like they had been friends forever.

"It feels so right." whispered one of them, who was a young man with bright eyes and a wide smile. "I feel like I know each one of you."

"We've never met before," replied the other man, who was tall and athletic looking. "But this feels so natural to me as well. The five of us, we're like a family."

They walked for hours through the dark forest. There was no moon, barely any light from the stars and no sound from the creatures that inhabited the night. The only thing guiding them was the faint glow from their stones, which seemed to be growing brighter as they walked on.

"I've always loved nature," said one of the women carrying the stone. "The trees, the birds and animals, everything just seems to be part of a grand plan."

"Yes," said another woman who was appearing to be very tired. "Everything is connected in ways we cannot begin to fathom."

They continued their walk into the early morning hours, not knowing that they were being followed by something evil. It lurked in shadows until it could see them again and started following them once more. As soon as it got close enough to smell them it roared out loud in anger at being denied its prey. But it did not dare attack them as they were protected by powers beyond its understanding.
