Amy and Greg were both in the kitchen, looking out the window at the incoming cloud. They both gazed up at its sheer size, a sheer mass of grey that was slowly blotting out the sky. Greg had a look of worry on his face as he watched it.

"This is serious, isn't it?" Amy said, her tone laced with concern.

"Yeah," Greg said, not taking his eyes off it. "This might be bad."

Amy turned towards him with a puzzled look on her face. "Why would you say that? I mean, we've got plenty of food for months and there are two more rooms in the basement behind our bedroom where we can stay if need be." She let out a nervous laugh. "We're probably going to be fine."

Greg didn't laugh back. "That's just it - this is exactly why I would say that." He gestured to the window with his chin. "The snow is already falling pretty quickly and we have another five or six hours before nightfall." The worried look returned to his face. "I just don't know what we're going to do if this keeps up."

Amy shook her head, brushing her shoulder-length brown hair away from her face. "We'll get through it like we always do." Then she took a step towards him and wrapped her arms around his waist. She moved her head up against his chest and closed her eyes as she squeezed him tight. Greg wrapped one arm around her back and looked out the window again. His hand brushed against hers at his side as he moved it up along her body to return the hug she was giving him. After a moment they parted, still holding each other at the waist, but now their heads were together as they looked outside again into the snow flurries that were beginning to pick up speed outside their picture window.
