"H-hey, can we rest for a bit?" Sang asked his gang leader, wiping sweat from his brow. The blazing sun was mercilessly beating down on all of them, turning the dry desert sand into an oven. The gang moved quickly to avoid the heat and had been running for hours. Sang didn't know how much longer he could keep up with the pace. It wasn't like he was out of shape or anything; Sang was used to being active and fit. But this heat made it hard enough to move forward, let alone run as fast as they were.

The leader looked back at Sang then gestured for him to catch up. "We need to keep moving," he said in a raspy voice, "we'll be home soon." Sang nodded then turned back towards the direction they came from. The journey started several days ago; they'd traveled by foot through miles of desert and mountains before arriving at this town where they set their sights on some wealthy people that were staying at a hotel right in front of them. That meant they had to go through a small town first and get there before dark. They spent the day traveling and now that night was approaching, Sang's energy was starting to run low. He didn't have time to think about it though, because the leader signaled for everyone else to stop moving too and huddled them together to talk in whispers.

"The town is quiet," he told them, "which is odd for a Friday night." He pointed at one of his men who nodded then went on ahead with his gun ready. The rest remained still until he returned a few minutes later with a report: "There are two guards stationed outside the bank," he reported, "and about four inside." Another man stepped forward impatiently and asked what they should do next. "We've got two choices," the leader said, ignoring the man's rudeness and loud tone in his voice, "we either break through the front door and shoot our way through all of them or we break through one of these side windows here and climb up to the second floor."

"I say we just shoot our way through," another man said loudly, making hand gestures at them all while talking nonstop, "I ain't climbing no walls if I don't have too!" The rest agreed with him including Sang except for one woman who spoke up against it: "What if there are more guards inside?" she asked him nervously, afraid to speak out against anyone apart from her brother who was standing next to her. No one bothered responding because it was clear that their minds were already made up--they would shoot their way in instead of risking more lives than necessary by trying to sneak in quietly.

Sang had always admired his brother Seungmin for having such an ambitious mind but never thought he would end up doing something so reckless one day like robbing banks or even killing innocent people during these robberies! And yet here he was standing beside him in this dusty old town with nothing but guns in hand ready to storm into a building while wearing masks and not caring if anyone saw them face-to-face or recognized them later on when their faces were plastered all over newspapers wherever they went! What were they thinking? They wanted money so badly that they'd risk getting caught by police? What did they think would happen if that happened? Would they kill everyone who got in their way too? Because Sang knew firsthand how dangerous Seungmin could be when he got angry--he once beat someone senseless just to protect Sang when they were younger! He may look soft on the outside but inside, Seungmin was just as sharp as any knife! There was no telling what he would do if he felt cornered!

"Alright," their leader announced once everything was decided; "the plan is simple: We break into the bank then take whatever money we can find! Once that's done we leave right away--no dilly-dallying around so make sure you know what you're looking for because we only have fifteen minutes before the cops arrive!" Everyone nodded except for Sang who stood frozen beside his brother while everyone readied themselves into position--except for that woman who couldn't bring herself to do it because she couldn't bear leaving without her brother! She turned away from them all and ran back towards Sang crying hysterically while hiding behind him from everyone else's prying eyes; she grabbed onto him tightly and begged him not to go with them anymore! She didn't want her brother dying today nor did she want him killing other people either!

Sang took her hands off of himself gently then gave her an encouraging smile despite his inner feelings about having to walk away from his own brother tonight without saying goodbye or even apologizing for leaving without telling him first! He didn't know why he needed money so badly but some part of him figured it had something to do with their father since Seungmin never forgave himself after accidentally killing him when they were both

very young. Their father's death weighed heavily on Seungmin's conscience, and Sang often felt the burden of it too, even though he was just a child when it happened. It seemed that Seungmin's desperation for money was connected to a desire to make up for the past, to somehow alleviate the guilt that had haunted him all these years.

Sang looked at the woman, her eyes filled with tears and despair. He understood her fear, her desperation to protect her brother. He knew how it felt to have loved ones in danger, but he also understood that he couldn't change his brother's path. He had tried before, countless times, but Seungmin's determination was unwavering.

As much as Sang yearned to stay and console her, he couldn't abandon his brother. Not again. He had tried helping Seungmin find different ways to earn money, legal ways, but none of them paid enough to meet Seungmin's insatiable desire. In the end, Sang had no choice but to become a part of Seungmin's plan, hoping to at least be there to protect him from himself.

"I'm sorry," Sang whispered to the woman, his voice choked with emotion, "I wish there was another way, but I can't leave him. I won't leave him." With those words, he gently disentangled himself from her grasp and started walking towards the rest of the gang, who were already making their way towards the bank.

The streets grew darker as the night crept in, and a tense silence filled the air. Sang's heart pounded in his chest, his palms sweaty with a mix of fear and anticipation. He had never been involved in anything like this before—it felt as if he was standing at the edge of a precipice, teetering between salvation and destruction.

The gang reached the bank, and Seungmin gave a signal for them to proceed. Sang felt a lump forming in his throat as one of the men pulled out a gun and fired a shot into the air, shattering the stillness of the night. Panic and chaos ensued as the guards scrambled to respond. The gang barged through the front door, firing their weapons indiscriminately, their masks providing them with a semblance of anonymity.

Sang followed the others, his heart pounding in his ears, the weight of guilt heavy on his shoulders. He wanted to believe that there was a way to save his brother, to steer him away from this life of crime. But with every step he took, every shot that echoed in the air, the reality became clearer—Seungmin was slipping further into darkness, and Sang was losing him.

As they rummaged through the bank, gathering money into bags, Sang's mind wandered to the woman he had left behind. He couldn't forget the desperation in her eyes, the plea in her voice. It gnawed at his conscience like a relentless rat, gnashing its sharp teeth. He questioned himself—was he making the right choice by staying with Seungmin?

But then a sudden commotion outside the bank drew Sang's attention. He rushed to one of the windows and peered out. His heart lurched as he saw police cars screeching to a halt, their sirens wailing in the night. They were surrounded.

"We have to go! Now!" Sang shouted, panic fueling his voice. The gang members hurriedly gathered their bags of money and made a break for the back exit, their footsteps echoing loudly in the almost empty bank. Sang glanced back one last time, his eyes searching for Seungmin's face amidst the chaos. But he couldn't see him. He prayed that his brother was already outside, that he had managed to escape.

In the darkness, they fled, their footsteps blending with the sound of sirens in the distance. The town blurred past them as they ran, the adrenaline giving them a temporary boost of energy. But Sang's mind was consumed with worry for his brother. The guilt, the fear, the love—it all tangled within him, creating a storm of emotions.

They ran for what felt like an eternity until they reached a small, secluded spot on the edge of town. Panting heavily, they finally stopped to catch their breath. The gang leader, still hidden under his disguise, turned to Sang.

"I don't know if your brother made it out," he said in a low voice, his eyes filled with regret, "but we can't go back. We have to keep moving, lay low for a while until things calm down." Sang nodded, his gaze distant and lost.

As they left the town behind, Sang's heart was heavy with a mix of relief and sorrow. He had chosen to stay with Seungmin, to protect him, no matter the cost. But he couldn't shake the haunting image of the woman's tear-streaked face from his mind. The guilt gnawed at him, a constant reminder of the lives they had disrupted and the destruction they had caused.

The night grew darker as they continued their journey, their footsteps a mournful echo in the empty expanse. Sang's hope flickered like a dying flame, but he knew that deep down, all he wanted was to find a way to save his brother from the darkness that threatened to consume him. And so, they embarked on a path of uncertainty, their fates intertwined in a dance of loyalty and sacrifice, as they wandered towards an uncertain tomorrow.
