Goku and the Shape-Shifters

It was only just now that the men and women of the earth had come to terms with the alien presence on their planet. Whether they be of the strange, blue-skinned race or the golden, cat-faced beings, they had all arrived at a point in history where they were no longer considered to be a threat. However, this new revelation would have anyone questioning if they should have ever trusted them at all.

Goku was not like her peers. She had always been one to question authority and seek out the truth. Unlike many of her friends and family who had accepted the aliens as their saviors, she found them to be nothing more than cowards who hid behind a facade of benevolence. For this reason, she refused to acknowledge their presence in any way whatsoever and did her best to avoid contact with them as much as possible. This, however, was easier said than done. The city of New Delhi, where Goku lived with her parents and younger sister, was filled with the creatures which made it almost impossible to escape from a single encounter with any of them.

Today had been no different. As she returned home from school after class, having successfully avoided contact with any of the creatures for the entirety of the day, she opened up the door to find one waiting for her. Normally this wouldn't have bothered her as she tried to avoid them at all costs, but something about today's visitor made her pause before entering her home.

He stood there before her with his hands in his pockets and an indifferent expression upon his face. She could see him watching her carefully as he politely asked if she could spare a moment of her time to listen to him speak. Feeling conflicted, Goku nodded and gestured for him inside. He followed her into her living room where he watched as Goku sat down on one end of the sofa facing him across it before gesturing for him to join her at the other end instead.

She observed him quietly for a moment as he looked down at his shoes nervously before finding himself unable to hold back anymore and plunging straight into it. He told Goku about how he was sent by his government to observe humans, and how he was surprised by their development over time until he met Goku herself. He explained how much he enjoyed spending time with Goku in spite of being forbidden by his superiors from interacting with humans beyond his task, and how he truly wished to stay here with her but knew it wasn't possible because his people were fearful that their presence would eventually lead humanity down a dark path. They didn't want anything to interfere with their work, even though most people seemed perfectly fine. However, there were those who harbored resentment and mistrust towards the aliens.

He continued talking, trying to convey his conflicted emotions and feelings, when suddenly Goku leapt up off the couch, furious. She stared down at him angrily, telling him that he was disgusting and accusing him of deceit. The man looked up at her confused, asking why she thought that. She told him that it was bad enough that these "gods" pretended not to be gods, but then they went on pretending they weren't even visiting when they clearly were. Now they claimed they weren't hurting people, yet if someone didn't bow down before them, they would be punished severely. Just because people are afraid doesn't mean they can take away their freedom. If he truly believed what he'd just said, then wouldn't it mean that all those other races who opposed their actions would need to leave Earth immediately because otherwise, humanity would become monstrous? No wonder everyone hated them; they're scum! They've never done any good for anyone! How dare he use such pretty words trying to make everyone think everything's alright when it's not?!

The man stared up at Goku from where he lay sprawled upon the ground, shocked by her anger. Realization flashed across his eyes, and he immediately jumped back up onto his feet, causing Goku to stumble backward. His expression turned serious as he began summoning what appeared to be a long metallic sword out of thin air. Goku watched warily, backing away slowly while searching for an escape route. He advanced towards her, and then suddenly reached out, grabbing something seemingly floating in mid-air. An image similar to one displayed on an iPhone appeared on its surface, casting an eerie red light toward Goku.

Goku braced herself for an attack, skeptical about the man's intentions and abilities, considering his rambling explanations earlier. However, she couldn't shake the feeling that there must be more to the situation than meets the eye – some kind of hidden truth that needed to be uncovered to determine the real purpose behind these mysterious visitors to Earth. And so, as the red light enveloped her, she decided to face these perplexing beings head-on and unravel the secrets they held within.
