Aye, Cavemen: A Mischievous Wander through Medieval India
·
Published 3/13/2023Two daring caveman brothers, Kiik and Tala, wander medieval India on a quest to discover something greater than themselves while navigating their dreams, culture, and obligations through a wild journey of risk, courage, comical chaos, and potentially forbidden magic.
Kiik and Tala were cavemen. They lived in a deep cave on the top of a hill. The cave was not made by them, but by the Gods. Kiik had heard about the Gods from the Elder. "The Gods are beings that live above us, in the sky." said the Elder.
The Elder also told them about the Mystery Stones. The Mystery Stones were found near their cave. They were black stones, with strange symbols carved into them. The Elder said that they were gifts from the Gods.
The two brothers walked through a forest to reach the village of Mani-Mani. When they reached there, they saw women sunbathing naked. "Hurry up!" shouted one of them, "The men will be back soon!"
Kiik and Tala did not understand what kind of game this was, but they enjoyed it a lot! They ran around and chased some women who screamed and laughed in joy. After a few hours, everyone stopped playing and everyone went home again.
Then Kiik and Tala sat down under a tree to eat some bison meat from their animal trap. While eating, they saw a strange man walking towards them without any clothes on his body! At first they thought it was just another woman that didn't wear clothes yet, because he had long hair like all women do, but then he moved closer and closer - right in front of their noses! And at this point they realized: "Oh my God!" This really was a man walking around naked!
They both stood up and started hitting him with large tree branches to drive him away, but then suddenly they heard loud laughter behind them: Everybody in the village came out of their houses again and laughed at the two cavemen beat up an innocent man! When Kiik and Tala finally understood that it wasn't a woman in front of them after all (and when everybody else understood that too), everybody calmed down again and went back to doing whatever it is that people do in villages where everyone has small houses with roofs made out of straws for shelter against rain...
"Now I understand why you often hear women scream so loud when two men enter their house", Kiik said to Tala while looking at him with big eyes full of astonishment. Tala replied: "I think we should go visit this place more often! There's so much fun for us here!" Then both brothers walked back home through the forest laughing loudly as well, while thinking about what kind of mischief they could make there next time...
