Sarah's 18th Gamble

"All right, I'll be back in a few hours."

"Take your time! I'll be here when you get back," Sarah answered. She was sweating and covered in dust, but she was happy. The job had gone well, even better than they could have hoped for.

"Just try to get some sleep, alright?" Hannah asked her as she began to walk down the hallway toward their room back in the hostel. "You were up all night after we completed the job."

"I know," Sarah responded tiredly. "But I'm so wired from everything that happened last night. Just thinking about it makes me want to run out the door and find more treasure!"

Hannah laughed at her sister's exuberance and excitement. She knew how badly she wanted to climb back into the boat and set sail once again. But Hannah was practical and careful. She didn't want to risk anything so soon after their first successful heist. "We can find some more treasure later," she said as they reached their room and walked inside. "There is bound to be more treasure hidden somewhere around here."

Sarah shook her head as she sat down on one of their beds. She felt tired, but still extremely giddy at the same time. "I know, I know, let's not rush into anything too quickly," she said with a laugh. "But who knows how long we'll have to wait before our next big score? We could die of old age before then!"

Hannah smiled at her sister. Then she took off her hat and replaced it with a different one that had a longer bill on it and made her look less like herself and more like a man. "Just try to go to sleep," she repeated "I'm going to go pick up some supplies for us, get some food," she said as she started walking toward the door of their room once again. "Try not to leave the room while I'm gone."

Sarah nodded at her, looking excited still but also exhausted at the same time. She already looked half asleep by the time Hannah had opened the door and left their room. As soon as Hannah closed the door behind her, Sarah laid down on one of their beds and fell asleep immediately afterwards.
