Gwen swung through the city, her heart pounding with a mix of excitement and fear. She had just made a huge discovery - the alternate Peter Parker of Earth-42 was alive, held captive by the Spot. It was a revelation that could change everything.

She landed on a rooftop and pulled out her phone, quickly dialing Miles' number. She needed to tell him what she had found.

"Hey Gwen, what's up?" Miles answered.

"I have some news," Gwen said, trying to keep her voice steady. "I found the alternate Peter Parker of Earth-42. He's not dead, he's been held captive by the Spot."

There was a pause on the other end of the line. "Are you serious?" Miles finally asked.

"Yeah, I'm serious," Gwen replied. "I don't know how or why, but he's alive. And I think we need to go rescue him."

"But what about finding my dad?" Miles asked.

"We can't just leave him there," Gwen said firmly. "And besides, if we rescue Earth-42 Peter, he might be able to help us find your dad."

Miles sighed heavily. "Okay, you're right," he said reluctantly. "We can't just leave him there. But how are we going to get to Earth-42? The colliders are all destroyed."

Gwen bit her lip nervously. "I... I have an idea," she said slowly. "But it's risky."

"Tell me," Miles said firmly.

Gwen took a deep breath and explained her plan to use the remains of the colliders in their universe to create a portal to Earth-42.

"It might work," she finished. "But we won't know until we try."

Miles was silent for a moment before finally speaking again. "Okay," he said quietly. "Let's do it."

Gwen smiled, relieved. "Great," she said. "Meet me at the warehouse where we found the first collider. I'll bring everything we need."

"See you there," Miles said before hanging up.

Gwen took one last look at the city below her before swinging away, her mind racing with thoughts of what they might find on Earth-42.

Gwen and Miles stood in the dimly lit warehouse, surrounded by the remains of the colliders. Gwen had spent hours studying and repairing them, trying to figure out a way to make them work again.

She took a deep breath and stepped forward, activating the controls she had set up. The room filled with a low hum as energy crackled through the air.

"Here goes nothing," Gwen muttered as she pushed the final button.

A bright light filled the room as a portal opened in front of them. Gwen shielded her eyes from the glare and glanced over at Miles, who was watching her nervously.

"You ready for this?" she asked him.

Miles nodded, his face determined. "Let's do it."

They stepped through the portal together and were immediately hit with a wave of dizziness. When their vision cleared, they found themselves standing on a rooftop overlooking a city that was eerily similar to their own but also different in subtle ways.

"This is Earth-42?" Miles asked, looking around in awe.

"Yeah," Gwen replied, taking in her surroundings. "This is it."

Just then, they heard a voice behind them. "Well well well, what do we have here?"

They turned to see a man standing on another rooftop nearby, grinning at them. He wore a suit covered in spots and held what looked like a small black hole in his hand.

"The Spot," Gwen said under her breath. She recognized him from her research on Earth-42's villains.

The Spot chuckled darkly. "You two must be lost," he said. "This is my city, and I don't take kindly to trespassers."

Gwen tensed, ready to fight if she had to. But before she could make a move, another figure appeared on the rooftop beside the Spot.

"Leave them alone, Spot," he said firmly.

Gwen's eyes went wide with shock as she recognized the voice. It was Peter Parker - the alternate Peter Parker of Earth-42.

He turned to look at Gwen and Miles, giving them a small smile. "Hey," he said. "Need some help?"

Gwen grinned back at him, relief flooding through her. "Yeah," she said. "We do."

And with that, they launched themselves into battle against the Spot, knowing that whatever happened next, they were not alone.
