Power Suit Fated: Kaori's LGBTQIA Journey

"So, I'm supposed to wear this...and then what?"

Kaori looked down at the suit. It was a chunky pile of black metal that could only be described as an exosuit. There were straps and buckles everywhere, and an array of mechanical parts in the arms that looked like they would do more harm than good. It was more like something used for construction than battle. Kaori had never held a weapon in their life, but they still felt uneasy about it.

"You put it on and pretend to be a superhero! Isn't it obvious?" Annoying voice number two, Sarah, exclaimed. She was a nerdy looking girl with glasses who always seemed to be annoyed at everything. Kaori's first impression of her was not far off the mark: she loved being judgemental and condescending towards everyone around her, especially Kaori herself. "Why else would we give you this? Look at this thing... it's huge! The first thing you'll want to do is-"

"Sarah." Sarah's friend, George, cut in before she could say anything else demeaning to Kaori. He wore a green cap and scarf over his face and had a weird habit of hiding behind other people whenever he spoke to them. Whenever he did speak up though, his voice was usually oddly calm and welcoming, making him seem much nicer than the rest of them. "Can we just let her figure it out by herself? She'll figure it out soon enough."

"I don't know why I even bother with you Georgie... where's your sense of adventure?" Sarah huffed before turning back to Kaori. "ANYWAY! The first thing you're going to want to do is take off your clothes!" she suddenly proclaimed loudly with great enthusiasm.

Kaori blushed bright red and took a step back from Sarah's loud proclamation. "W-wait! What?!"

"That's right!" Sarah continued loudly as if she hadn't heard her at all. "Take your clothes off! You need to get into a battle-ready state of mind!"

George sighed again while another girl in a red hoodie rolled her eyes at the scene unfolding before her: Alice, the group's leader who always acted like she knew best despite never actually doing anything herself. "Sarah," she said calmly while shoving past her rude friend, "you've gotta chill out man."

Alice then turned to Kaori with a reassuring smile on her face. Her hair was long and purple and tied up in twin ponytails that swayed gently with each movement she made. She even wore purple lipstick which matched the bow over her eyes perfectly: always trying to look nice for everyone else no matter what the situation called for. "Don't worry about Sarah," she assured softly as if speaking directly into Kaori's soul, "she means well."

"Some of us are just more blunt about our intentions than others." Alice continued as if reading Kaori's thoughts from earlier when she first met the colorful girl with an equally colorful personality. She then reached over and undid one of the buckles on the exosuit before turning back to Kaori with another warm smile on her face. "Now let me help you with this so we can get started." She pulled away from Kaori then turned back around after unbuckling another strap on the suit's shoulder piece. "Behold..." she said dramatically as she pushed open one side of the chest plate covering Kaoris chest area , "...the world-shattering power of-"

"-the Super Sailor Suit!" George exclaimed dramatically as he jumped forward from behind Sarah, who'd been blocking his view all along. He pointed at the opened chest plate proudly as if he'd built it himself, fully aware of the excitement surrounding this moment. With the suit now properly unfastened and displayed, Kaori could finally put it on and see what it felt like to become a superhero. The anticipation building in the room was contagious, with everyone sharing a sense of child-like wonder and eagerness to witness the transformative power of the Super Sailor Suit.
