Reaper and the Animelon Crew
·
Published 5/4/2023In a danger-filled Middle East, Reaper and his ragtag, dialect-filled Animelon crew must use their wits and colloquialisms to outsmart enemies and fight off a deadly attack, or else risk certain destruction.

"Reaper!" called one of his companions, a young woman with long blonde hair tied into two ponytails that rested over her shoulders and bounced about as she approached him with long strides. Her outfit consisted of tight trousers and boots that reached up to her thighs and exposed her legs from mid-thigh down, while her upper body was covered with an open coat that revealed most of her skin and stopped just above her chest. She wore no shirt underneath her coat but had an ammo belt strapped across her bare bosom that held several magazines for her weapons which rested at her hips: a pair of handguns holstered on either side of her waist and one at the small of her back. Her name was Lila and she was Reaper's love interest in the series.
"It's starting," she said excitedly as she drew close to him and grabbed onto his arm tightly with both hands. They had been living together for many years now but they were still very much in love despite having experienced numerous hardships together already during their time together on Animelon. It had even been rumored once or twice that they were actually married, but neither had ever confirmed nor denied it themselves. Lila had once admitted to being engaged prior to their relationship but the identity of her former fiancé remained unknown.
"Everyone's ready," said Reaper calmly. He didn't seem too excited for their debut episode to air but then again he never did; he took everything in stride without any emotion showing on his face, always acting stoic and unemotional whenever he faced challenges or menaces. "What about our guests?" he asked as he looked over at Lila, who raised an eyebrow as if she couldn't quite understand what he meant by 'guests'. "Across the ocean," Reaper explained as he pointed towards their left where there was nothing but blue sky behind them. "I saw some ships coming this way while you were reading those scripts earlier."
"Oh right," said Lila, beaming brightly as she finally remembered their scheduled shoot today with their special guest stars: A group of famous celebrities known as The Warriors Of Justice who were visiting them for a surprise visit after being told that they would be filming an episode in which they would be acting alongside Reaper himself. In reality, Reaper was not playing a character but rather himself, and the same went for the guest stars; nevertheless, it made more sense for them to act alongside Reaper. "Everybody's ready out there too," she added quickly after realizing that it might sound strange if she didn't mention that everyone else waiting for them could indeed perform. However, not everyone possessed exceptional acting abilities, but this wasn't a serious film production by any means - it was more akin to those less-than-stellar home videos produced by families during gatherings or holidays. Only in this case, it was being done professionally so people could watch it on television. Essentially, they were engaging in live action role-play (LARP) for the camera, and they were fortunate enough to be paid for their efforts. While it may not have been a significant sum, it was sufficient for them to live comfortably. In fact, some considered this job to be more prestigious than many others because not everyone had the opportunity to be paid for such imaginative pursuits - it took undeniable talent to enter this niche industry in the first place.
