Enoch's Escape: When Fear Walks in Darkness

The first thing he noticed, was that it had been raining. Not a heavy down pour, but just enough to leave everything wet. He could feel the water soaking into his shoes and the dampness of his socks. The air was cool, and he could see the steam rolling off his breath as he exhaled. He was also a little hungry.

He looked around and saw that he was in some kind of village or town. There were houses built close together and streets between them. There were people walking around, getting on with what he assumed were their daily lives. They were dressed in traditional clothing, something like Colonial America but with a slightly different cut and styling. He thought about whether or not this should be surprising to him, but he couldn't figure out why it would matter either way.

As he walked down the street, feeling just a little bit lost, he heard a noise behind him that sounded like someone screaming. He turned to look and saw two men chasing after a girl who was running away from them, shrieking hysterically. One of the men pounced on her and they both fell to the ground while the other man stood over them laughing and cheering the other on. The girl tried to kick the man trapping her legs but before she could get free she was struck in the back of the head with what looked like a club by the second man who then jumped on top of her as well, pinning her arms down next to her head with one hand as he groped her breasts with his other hand. He laughed as she screamed louder and louder until at last she stopped struggling all together, leaving only sobbing gasps for breath as she cried uncontrollably into the mud beneath her face.

The first man climbed off of her then held her arms down still while his partner unbuttoned her dress and pulled it up over her head so that she was now stark naked from the waist up in front of them both. She continued sobbing uncontrollably as they both stared down at her exposed breasts for several moments before one of them put a hand under each one and squeezed cruelly hard while they both laughed gleefully at having conquered this poor creature who just moments ago had been fighting against them so desperately. They laughed again at how easy it had been as they roughly fondled her small breasts until finally one of them leaned down and began licking around her nipples while the other grabbed hold of one side of her face with one hand and slapped it lightly back and forth with the other until she began to moan softly through her sobs instead of crying out nearly constantly anymore before stopping altogether except for stifled whimpers while they violated this poor woman's body in more ways than one before suddenly stopping everything but turning away from her naked body walking back toward their own clothes which they quickly got dressed then went on their way laughing all the way out into the street where they went about their business once again just as if nothing had ever happened at all.

Enoch sat there on that bench for a long time watching them walk away before finally standing up himself and continuing on his way through this strange place where people lived normal lives right alongside horrors such as these being committed every day seemingly without notice or care by anybody else in town except for him himself alone here now watching it happen even though there was nothing he could do about what those two men had done to that poor girl no matter how much rage filled him inside wanting desperately to stop them from hurting someone so young looking so scared so fragile yet helplessly unable to move no matter how much he wanted to stand up shout at them run after them stop them somehow make things better fix everything make it all go away forever because god damn it could things be any worse any more wrong? And yet despite wishing desperately for things to be different wishing at least for someone else to try change anything at all Enoch stood there frozen unable to do anything but watch every heartbreaking awful moment play out unfolding exactly as it had before until eventually when it was over just like always Enoch whispered I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry to that broken broken girl lying there naked sobbing in the mud until finally standing up himself shaking his head too angry too sad too disgusted with everything this world this life this existence holding in whatever words rage tears curses screams thoughts feelings pain love hate hope despair loss anger fear hate rage rage rage that wanted desperately wanted needed desperately neededto yell out loud needed desperately needed to talk scream cry shout roar collapse wail beat pound fists against walls hit punch kick cry cry cry collapse weep break fall apart curl up ball shake cover eyes hands ears mouth eyes mouth eyes yes yes yes yes yes yes please please please please PLEASE PLEASE help me help us all help us please please don't let this be real don't let this exist don't let me have seen what I've seen done what I've done why is this happening why is any of this happening why has all of this happened why does any of it exist why am I here where am I going where did I come from who am I where are we coming from where are we going where are you taking me what did you want from me why did you do these things why did you hurt me WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY OH MY GOD PLEASE HELP ME HELP ME HELP ME HELP ME HELP ME HELP ME HELP ME PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!
