Louise and I have been inseparable since our first day at the University of Frankfurt. It was there that we met during our Philosophy of Law classes. She was one of the only girls in the class and she was rather shy, but I could tell she had a mind just as sharp as mine. And so, with my usual determination, I managed to get her to open up around me and also got her into some trouble.

Louise is a wonderful young woman, even though she is exceedingly intelligent, because she has a lot of common sense. She is also very beautiful, much more than I am, which might be why I am in love with her.

I am not ashamed to say that I have loved Louise for years now and I know she's felt the same way about me for just as long. No matter how dangerous a situation becomes, I will never let anything bad happen to Louise and always do my best to protect her from whatever danger we may face.

Today we were walking through the crowded marketplace of Frankfurt, looking for rare books and other items related to our studies. Of course it was not easy to find anything this far away from The Eternal City or any other more "civilized" city for that matter, but people from all over Germany came here to trade their goods and services so it wasn't like they were going to run out of things anytime soon.

"What are you looking for today?" Louise asked me as we walked through the mud-covered streets of Frankfurt.

"Anything really," I told her. "We don't exactly have an abundance of things to study back at the university so I'm trying to find anything that might give us an edge over our peers."

"You should try getting a real job instead," Louise said with a wink as we neared one of the many food vendors that dotted the market. "You could make real money and not be stuck in this muddy hell hole, studying dusty old books all day."

"Except where else would you find a library filled with such fascinating books?" I asked her rhetorically before grabbing some lunch from the vendor's cart. As much as I enjoyed life with my sweet Louise, there was nothing quite like returning home after an adventure to eat something delicious while lounging in a warm bathtub.

My thoughts were interrupted by someone screaming loudly somewhere nearby. Suddenly, it became apparent that chaos had broken out in the marketplace and everyone who didn't want their purse stolen or their lives taken by reckless robbers fled for cover behind tents or into nearby shops hoping they would not be noticed by those causing all the ruckus.

Not wanting Louise to get hurt or caught up in anything dangerous, I quickly looked around for some place safe for us to hide when someone grabbed my arm and pulled me down an alleyway between two buildings just as gunshots rang out from somewhere above us on the street we had walked down earlier.

Unfortunately for me though, whoever had grabbed me wanted something more than simply saving my life because I felt a cold blade pressed against my throat before being dragged into the darkness of the alleyway where my assailant took his hand off my arm and whispered darkly into my ear: "Don't move or sound or you die."

I felt like screaming at him and telling him he could take everything I owned right now if he'd let Louise go unharmed but knew if he did that he might just kill us both anyway so remained silent while trying desperately not to think about what would happen if they noticed Louise following behind me without making any noise herself whatsoever.

As it turned out though, it seemed like they hadn't seen her sneak past them unnoticed so when she slipped into the alleyway behind me she appeared right next to me almost at once and although she was careful not make any noise at first, it became apparent she didn't realize how close she'd gotten when one of the men made eye contact with her face reflected in his gun barrel's shiny surface before starting towards her with his weapon raised high above his head ready to strike at any moment.

Luckily for her however, Louise's reflexes are better than those of most people who spend most days sitting behind desks thinking about philosophy because instantly she ducked down onto all fours allowing their gun barrels to pass harmlessly over both our heads before leaping forward onto one of them like a wild animal pouncing on its prey sinking her teeth into his shoulder while clawing wildly at his face with her fingernails until blood began pouring down his neck staining his shirt red almost instantly while simultaneously pulling out one of his guns from its holster on his side while striking him repeatedly across his head with its muzzle until he fell unconscious onto the ground beneath her feet leaving only one man left standing by himself trying desperately not to look directly at us as he realized he was trapped between us on either side backing slowly away from us until finally turning around running down another alleyway adjacent to ours disappearing from sight before we knew what happened.

After taking a moment to catch our breath after such an eventful afternoon spent dodging bullets in crowded city streets it finally dawned on me that besides being very brave Louise must also be very hungry again after all this excitement so told her we should probably head back towards town before heading towards our latest lodgings where we could hopefully get some rest before tomorrow's adventures began again as we went back out into town through one of the many exit points scattered throughout Frankfurt's well-organized marketplace hoping there wouldn't be any more excitement today after narrowly avoiding being shot dead by rival gangsters earlier today...
