Time-Play: The Stone Age Quest

Grady started running through the forest towards the northeast, where Bryck was fishing near the beach, trying to get away from whatever was making those noises. He didn't stop running until he reached Bryck's houseboat, where Bryck was furiously trying to increase speed with his oars as fast as possible. As Grady finally caught up with him, Bryck shouted at him over his shoulder desperately, "GET OFF MY BOAT! WE'RE UNDER ATTACK!"

Grady jumped overboard right away just before something big landed on top of the houseboat, sending it spinning wildly through the water. When everything settled down, Grady stood up and watched as Bryck frantically rowed away from whatever had attacked them. Just then, a huge, rock-like face appeared out of nowhere right next to Grady, sending waves crashing over his head. At first, Grady thought this gigantic face must have been just an illusion caused by rocks floating on top of the water, but then it opened its mouth wide enough for Grady to fit inside it and started chewing on its teeth loudly, crushing everything in its path as it slowly made its way towards him. The thing's teeth were pitch black and terrifyingly sharp. Seeing no other choice, Grady jumped into the ocean, hoping against hope that there wasn't anything else lurking beneath those waves waiting for him.

When everything settled down again, Grady swam for shore as fast as he could, but felt like something large and heavy was following right behind him. He didn't dare look back though because if whatever it was caught sight of him swimming, it would no doubt attack. He finally reached shallow water five minutes later and scrambled onto land before collapsing into wet sand, coughing up seawater with tears streaming down his face. When he finally recovered enough energy not only to sit up but also breathe normally without drowning anymore on dry land, he looked back out into the ocean where his friend's houseboat was floating aimlessly away from shore with no sign of anyone aboard anywhere within sight.

Then Grady noticed something huge rising out of the ocean right next to where his friend's boat once floated calmly across calm waters, waiting for its passengers' return. A massive claw-like hand appeared out of nowhere above water, along with two enormous arms reaching towards each other, almost touching at both ends, with long, sharp fingers sitting atop each arm that looked powerful enough to crush boulders against each other between them. Then suddenly those arms separated, disappearing below the water once more, followed by a giant round, boulder-like head popping up above the water, which opened its mouth, revealing rows upon rows of straight white teeth lined up neatly across its wide jaw. The creature took huge bites out of everything around it, swallowing everything whole, including trees bigger than houses, and spraying enormous waves everywhere.

The powerful waves destroyed ships nearby, sending every living thing within miles flying violently through the air, smashing ships against rocks, and wreaking havoc. Grady watched in terror as the monstrous creature continued consuming everything in sight, drowning everyone and everything under the water while leaving nothing but utter devastation in its wake.

"What?!" screamed Grady, staring at where his friend's houseboat used to float peacefully across New Zealand's calm waters before being attacked by what seemed like an entire world beneath those waves. His friend Tommy walked towards him carefully, keeping an eye out for danger wherever it may lurk as well, and yelled, "WHAT DID YOU SAY?!"
