I had been meaning to write this for a while. Yes, I know the title is not very good but that’s why I’m writing it. I’ll change it later.
I only knew for sure about the day that changed my life after my wife left me. The first thing she said when she told me was, “I will always love you. This isn’t your fault.”
The second thing she said was, “I’m sorry, honey. I have to go.”
The third thing she said was, “For the best, don’t try to find me.”
The fourth thing she said was, “This wasn’t your fault. She would have left eventually anyway. You did all you could. It just happened sooner than we thought it would. I love you and thank you for being there for me through all of our years together and with her, regardless of how difficult that must have been for you at times. More importantly, though, thank you for being there for our daughter when I couldn’t be. Thank you for loving her like a father should and raising her as your own child so well. She will always be your daughter and she will always love you more than anyone else in this world. Please let her know that every day."
