Inside Twilight's Wild Soul: A Shrinking Adventure

**Twilight, are you sure this is a good idea?** Spike asked.

He was in the library with Twilight reading a book while they waited for the rest of their friends to arrive. Twilight had gone to get some snacks from the kitchen and was now back with a plate full of cookies. She sat down and began eating them in her usual fashion of one cookie in each hoof. Spike sighed and put his book down and went to find a serving tray so she could eat without getting crumbs everywhere.

"Oh Spike, don't be silly! I'm almost done with my research paper, I have everything I need already." Twilight said as she munched on another cookie. "But I just want to test something real quick before I present it to Celestia."

"You...you want me to shrink you?" Spike asked with wide eyes. He had only been shrunken once by Pinkie Pie in the past but he never wanted to go through that experience again. He didn't know how Twilight would be able to do it though; Pinkie Pie used special party cannon she always carried around with her everywhere she went, not that he knew why she needed it since she never threw any parties.

Twilight nodded, she started to get up from her comfortable spot on the couch and walked over to the table where Spike put the cookies, she grabbed another one off the plate and bit into it while still walking towards him "Yes, this should be fun!"

Spike gulped and backed away from the table until he hit a wall, he couldn't run away because there was no way he would be able to escape if Twilight decided to shrink him. He looked down at the book on his lap that had a picture of a pony who was smaller than her own hoof print and shivered in fear.

"I don't think this is a good idea Twilight," Spike said nervously, hoping that maybe she would change her mind. But he should have known better; when did Twilight ever not finish what she started? "Didn't you say that Pinkie Pie almost killed you when she shrunk you?"

"Hmmm..." Twilight thought about it for a moment, but then shook her head "No, that wasn't really Pinkie's fault."

"What?! It wasn't?!" Spike exclaimed "How could...but...Oh goodness!" *Pinkie Pie caused all sorts of other problems but not shrinking someone?!* {This really must be serious.} he thought to himself. "Just please tell me this isn't for your research paper!"

"It's for my presentation before Princess Celestia tomorrow! You know how important that is right?" Twilight answered as if it was obvious.

Spike shook his head vigorously up and down in response. "Of course I do! You're going to tell her your new findings about dark magic and how we can use it against our enemies!" he said frantically as if trying his best to convince her not to do anything dangerous while at the same time doing exactly that himself. "I mean...if you're going to talk about dark magic then why would you even need me here?!" He pointed an accusing claw at himself but quickly lowered it when he realized what he just said might have upset Twilight. "I mean...that is...um..." He trailed off quietly as he tried to figure out how he could fix what he just said without making matters worse. *Deep breaths* Spike told himself silently *You're going to make things worse if you don't calm down.* He took several deep breaths before continuing "I'm sorry I didn't mean it like...um..." He sighed deeply again "...never mind." **Yes, continue acting like an idiot because that's obviously working for you so far!** He rolled his eyes mentally at himself before looking back up at Twilight who was watching him expectantly with one eyebrow raised in confusion. "Never mind," he repeated weakly before deciding silence was probably the best option right now; otherwise he'd say something even more stupid than everything else he had already said today (which was saying something). So instead of talking anymore, Spike buried his face into his hands while sitting there on the floor feeling incredibly embarrassed at everything that just happened between him and Twilight tonight. His embarrassment soon turned into worry when all he heard in response was silence; **Is she mad at me?** He thought nervously while lifting his head out of his paws so look back up at her again, luckily though all traces of anger were gone from her face and replaced by concern instead (although why she would be concerned about him being sad or confused by what she had said made no sense). **Ughhh this day is just getting worse and worse!** He thought angrily as he gave up on trying figure out how these last few hours went from bad to terrible so fast as well as trying not look like an idiot for all eternity in front of his boss who was also now also becoming his girlfriend apparently (and hopefully still will after tonight). Then suddenly, Twilights horn sparked with magic which snapped him back into reality; **Wait what?!** He looked up at her horn glowing brightly before suddenly shrinking down small enough that he couldn't see her anymore behind the table they were sitting next too while also moving over until she stood directly next to him on the floor where he had been sitting moments ago reading his book earlier today {Today has seriously been one of those days.} He muttered under his breath still unable [to wrap]his mind [around] everything happening all at once {Why does today hate me?}
