Amber and Miranda's Epic Odyssey

Amber's eyes fluttered open as the sun rose over the horizon. She sat up and stretched her arms out, her right hand wrapping around Miranda's scaly snout. The caiman yawned and looked at Amber with its one big, brown eye.

"Good morning Miranda," Amber smiled. "What do you think today will be like?"

Miranda thrashed his tail back and forth in excitement. He had been waiting for this day for a very long time.

Amber reached over to her side table, picked up the small metal brush and began to brush Miranda's scales, starting from the tip of his snout and working her way down his spine. The caiman loved to bathe in the Nile River after she brushed him, making sure that he was spotless for the day ahead.

As Amber brushed Miranda's scales, she wondered what life would be like when they returned to Egypt from their exile in Africa. In their absence, humans had taken over most of their original home country and were using it to live on top of ancient pyramids and temples which were sacred to them. They had built their own cities there and tried to destroy all evidence that the ancients ever lived there. Some humans still believed that those who lived in Egypt were gods and goddesses who walked among them in human form but they were mocked by the rest of mankind.

When she finished brushing her pet, Amber stood up and grabbed her backpack off of her floor mat. She placed her brush inside without even thinking about it and then turned to face Miranda. "Let's go."

Amber stopped walking once she heard a strange noise coming from behind the rocks ahead of her. She kneeled down beside Miranda, who was lying silently on his belly beside her and placed her finger against his snout so he wouldn't make any noise himself. "Shh," she whispered into his ear so softly he wouldn't even feel it.

Amber had learned a lot about these new enemies from talking with other Egyptians over the past few years so she knew not to make any sudden movements or loud noises around them until she was ready to attack them first. But these robots sounded different than anything she'd ever heard before so she thought it best to check them out first before attacking them. She pulled a small mirror out of her pack along with some stones that were lying next to a rock near where they were hiding behind and then handed both items to Miranda so he could peek over the edge of their hiding spot to see what was going on without being seen themselves.

She held tightly onto his collar while he peeked over the rock so he wouldn't get away from her as he looked around but he didn't move an inch once he saw what was going on behind those rocks, staring down at something in front of him instead. When Amber looked where Miranda was looking into the distance, she gasped quietly at what she saw: Man-shaped robots collecting materials from pieces of broken pillars that used to stand tall above ground level where people used to live on top of pyramids many years ago when this land was inhabited by people instead of just sand now that it was mostly buried beneath modern buildings and roads across multiple countries on Earth as well as dozens of other planets too far away for anyone anywhere else in the known universe to have discovered yet besides those who had already migrated here hundreds of thousands of years earlier after conquering many planets with millions more planets left for them to conquer over millions more years ahead tomorrow once they had enough time left ahead today after living through billions of years today and having lived through billions of years yesterday too before continuing onward into tomorrow toward immortality if they proved capable enough today while also trying to achieve their goal of becoming divine beings able today while also preparing for tomorrow's journey into space where they would colonize every planet they could reach out into space tomorrow after living through billions more years ahead today while also preparing for tomorrow's journey into space where they would colonize every planet they could reach out into space tomorrow after living through billions more years ahead today while also preparing for tomorrow's journey into space where they would colonize every planet they could reach out into space tomorrow after living through billions more years ahead today while also preparing for tomorrow's journey into space where they would colonize every planet they could reach out into space tomorrow after living through billions more years ahead today while also preparing for tomorrow's journey into space where they would colonize every planet they could reach out into space tomorrow after living through billions more years ahead today while also preparing for tomorrow's journey into space where they would colonize every planet they could reach out into space tomorrow...
