The night was warm and humid, the air filled with the sound of crickets. The smell of sweat and grass filled Luca's nostrils as he watched Cedric run a few more laps around the field. He tried to ignore the wetness dripping down his arms and legs, he had been running for hours now but it wasn't enough. Luca knew he had to keep going until his body could take no more.

He rubbed at a bruise on his knee, wishing he hadn't slipped so close to the end of the race. It wouldn't have mattered if he had won either way, they were all winners in this game. Luca was second place, that was still quite an accomplishment, especially on this course. He looked over at Jara who was having a hard time trying to catch her breath. She had pushed herself too much, she was only 5 years old after all. Luca would have helped her if he didn't need to catch his own breath before helping anyone else.

"Come on!" Luca yelled over to Zia who was currently doing some stretches while staring at the moon. "We're almost done." He walked up behind him and pushed him into a tree causing Zia to stumble around for a bit before laughing it off. Zia wasn't very athletic but what he lacked in physical abilities he made up for in brains and morals. He would be useful when their plan finally came into fruition.

Eventually everyone had finished their exercises and decided to head back inside the small home Luca lived in with his mother. She wasn't around anymore though which was fine by Luca since she never approved of what they did anyway. They used her place as their base because she didn't like spending money on living arrangements anyways so it worked out perfectly for them all.

Luca grabbed a towel from a pile of clean ones in the kitchen and started wiping himself down as Cedric cooked dinner for everyone. They really needed something good tonight after that long run and Luca knew just what he wanted to eat; rice and beans with plantains on the side. The others would probably just settle for whatever Cedric made but there was no doubt in Luca's mind that it would be delicious anyways, even if the food wasn't always edible sometimes when Cedric tried new recipes he picked up from his travels abroad or from watching cooking shows on TV.

The five of them went about their nightly rituals until dinner was ready, eating quietly while sharing stories of their day or joking around before heading off to bed. This was how every night went for them, they couldn't do most of their training during the day so they had to do everything they could during they night when people weren't looking so closely at them anymore since they were usually asleep at this hour anyway.

Luca opened up his futon and lied down, not bothering to take off his clothes first since he'd be wearing those same clothes again tomorrow anyhow so why bother? Soon enough he drifted off into a light sleep while thinking about all sorts of things like what school would be like tomorrow or whether or not Jara would recover from her injuries soon enough so she could join them again next week during practice instead of resting up like she had been doing lately as well as many other things that occupied his mind throughout the night until eventually morning came along once again leaving him feeling exhausted but excited at the same time for another day ahead of them filled with training or whatever else life may have in store for them next.
