Miles Morales swung through the city, his heart pounding in his chest. It had been a few months since he had gained his spider-like abilities, and he was still getting used to them. But he had come a long way since that day.
He landed on a rooftop and looked out at the city below. The sun was setting, casting an orange glow over everything. It was peaceful for a moment, but then he heard sirens in the distance.
"Looks like I'm needed," Miles said to himself.
He jumped off the rooftop and swung through the city, following the sound of the sirens. He arrived at the scene of a robbery just as it was happening. A group of masked men were holding up a jewelry store, smashing display cases and grabbing whatever they could.
"I guess crime never takes a break," Miles said with a sigh.
He swung down into the middle of the group, using his web-shooters to disarm them one by one. The men tried to fight back, but Miles was too fast for them. He dodged their punches and kicks with ease, taking them down one by one.
But just as he thought he had won, something unexpected happened. One of the men pulled out a small device and pressed a button on it. A bright light flashed, temporarily blinding Miles.
"What the-?" he started to say.
But before he could finish his sentence, something hit him in the back. He fell to the ground, his head spinning. When he looked up, he saw that all of the men were gone.
"What just happened?" Miles asked himself.
He tried to stand up but found that his legs wouldn't move. He looked down and saw that they were covered in some kind of webbing.
"Great," Miles muttered under his breath.
Just then, he heard footsteps approaching from behind him. He turned around and saw someone standing there in a black suit, a red spider emblem on their chest.
"Who are you?" Miles asked.
The person didn't answer. Instead, they walked over to him and started to free him from the webbing. Once he was free, Miles stood up and looked at the person.
"Thanks," he said. "But I could have handled it."
The person just looked at him, their face hidden by a mask.
"You're welcome," they finally said. "But it looks like you could use some help."
Miles raised an eyebrow at that.
"What do you mean?" he asked.
The person pointed to the device that the men had used on him.
"That's not something your average street thug would have," they said. "I think someone is after us."
Miles frowned at that.
"Us?" he asked.
The person nodded.
"I'm not the only one with these powers," they said. "There are others out there, just like us."
Miles didn't know what to say. He had always thought that he was alone in this, that he was the only one with these powers. But now it seemed like there were others out there, fighting the same fight as him.
"We need to find them," Miles said finally. "We need to band together and stop whoever is behind this."
The person nodded again.
"I agree," they said. "But first, we need to find out who they are and what they want with us."
Miles nodded in agreement and held out his hand.
"I'm Miles Morales," he said.
The person shook his hand firmly.
