I must have fallen asleep on the floor. My back aches and my arms are stiff. The stars have faded, replaced by a faint pink glow - dawn. It's time to get up.

"Asimay?" I call out quietly, rubbing the sleep from my eyes. "Are you in here?"

I can hear her sobbing quietly, but I don't hear any sounds of struggle. I should be able to hear her if something is wrong...

I walk from room to room, growing more frantic with each empty chamber. "Asimay!" I yell now, running down the hallway and towards the stairs that lead to the base of the floating island. She won't answer me. "Asimay!"

The stairwell is dark and foreboding, but there's just enough light from outside for me to make it to the bottom where I burst into the control room. A flash of blue lightning illuminates all around me and for a moment, everything is still and beautiful. Then there's a bang like thunder and a brilliant flash lights up the island like daylight before fading away again into utter darkness. The main console is smashed into pieces, sparks flying everywhere around me. There's no sign of Asimay anywhere.

"ASIMAY?!" I scream at the top of my lungs, feeling tears welling up in my eyes as I search through all this wreckage for her. This can't be happening! What must have happened? Who did this?! "ASIMAY!!" My voice cracks as I choke back sobs and I collapse onto the floor in despair. Tears stream down my cheeks and I pull my knees up against my chest as my shoulders shake uncontrollably with grief. How could this happen? Why? What did we ever do to deserve this?

No one answers me and eventually I stop calling out Asimay's name and just sit there in silence, staring off into space with bloodshot eyes and an empty heart. My throat hurts from crying so much, but I don't care anymore - it doesn't matter how much pain I'm in or how much sorrow consumes me because at least then I feel something; at least then there's some sort of sensation that lets me know that I'm still alive...

There was nothing left for me here anymore so I packed what little belongings remained into my bag and started walking across the island towards where we used to dock our canoes - the only way off this place now was water since flying was impossible without Asimay's guidance through these skies...
