*One Week Before Waqee Turns One*

Mother and son were sitting in the living room at home. Waqee was drawing on a piece of paper with crayons, and his mother was watching him proudly as he drew something that looked like a flower. It wasn't anything special to be honest, but she thought it was adorable nonetheless.

"What are you drawing?" She asked, peeking over at the crayon drawing her child had so much interest in.

"A flower," replied Waqee. "You want to see it?" He said as he showed off his work to his mother.

"Oh, yes please!" His mother replied, with a smile on her face. "It's beautiful sweetie." She said, giving her son a kiss on the forehead while he smiled back at her proudly.

Waqee had been wearing diapers for a long time now, but his mother still made him wear dresses when they went out in public together for some reason. But she never told him why she did it or what it meant. She just said that it was something that fathers normally do for their little girls, but not for their little boys (her words exactly). He just accepted it because his mother always took care of him and gave him everything he wanted after all. If this was what she wanted then he would gladly oblige.

The doorbell rang, prompting Waqee's mother to stand up from her seat in the living room and walk over to the door with her son in tow. When they reached the front door they found a man standing outside with a huge box in hand that he was trying to hold up with one hand while ringing the doorbell with his other hand. The box was so big that it could fit Waqee inside with plenty of space left over; however, it seemed like the man didn't notice them until they got closer to him (probably due to how big the box was). With a grunt he finally managed to lift up the box and set it down onto the floor right in front of the door step before looking up at them both with an apologetic smile on his face. He only had brown hair, and wore black-rimmed glasses over his eyes which gave off a very scholarly vibe, even though he seemed very tall and well built too (but not *too* buff). He wore a white button-up shirt and brown pants which looked like they were probably wrinkled from all the carrying he did with that box of his earlier. To round off his look, he wore brown shoes with white laces tied around them (but no socks) and carried a magazine under one arm that had yellow letters on its cover saying "The World Around Me".

"Hello there," He said politely as he bowed down before them both once they got close enough to him. "My name is Dr. Peter Markham and I'm here to meet Mr Ronald Simmons?" He asked tilting his head slightly while looking between Waqee's mother and son curiously as if expecting an answer from them both at any moment. His voice sounded very deep despite being high pitched at certain times too; for example when he questioned them about Ronald Simmons. In fact, Waqee thought it sounded like Dr. Markham had swallowed gravel or something like that earlier since Dr Markham's voice sounded so raspy yet deep all at once! It was really strange to hear such a voice coming out of someone who looked like Dr Markham didn't seem all that old himself either...
