I'm not sure how long we've been walking, but it's been at least an hour. I can tell because I counted my footsteps and it had to have been at least a hundred by then.

We haven't stopped though. It took Willi a while to get up after that dog bit his leg. We had to run from those men who smelled like raw meat, the ones that were chasing us. We still don't know why they wanted to hurt us in the first place. But it must have been important, right? Otherwise they wouldn't have chased us all this way.

I'm tired, and I need to use the bathroom, but we can't stop yet. The sun is starting to set and I really don't want to be here when it gets dark. The man with the weird glasses told me that the bad people come out at night, and they will eat me if they catch me. He said he was speaking from experience, so I know he's right.

But we're almost there! I see a sign up ahead that says "doctor." That means someone who knows how to work on people like Willi can help him!

"Hurry, Willi!" I call behind me as we pick up speed towards our destination.

We approach slowly, cautiously even though we are two small animals alone in a big city far from home.

"Doctor?" I call tentatively as we approach the building with big windows full of colored liquids and tools for humans to fix themselves with. But maybe this doctor could fix Willi too!

I bounce on my hind legs in front of the door that has a sign saying "Ring for Service," but Willi waves me off as he limps into view of the door-window thingy.

"I'll do it," he says, voice soft and raspy from being out of breath for so long.

I watch curiously as he lifts his paw up towards a hole in the wall where buttons are supposed to go in order to press them, but there are no buttons there except for one big yellow one with a white symbol on it that looks like a person bent over with their hands around their knees breathing hard while drinking something pink out of a straw.

Willi presses this button and immediately, like magic or something, a door slides open just enough for both of us to fit through sideways along with our backpacks full of berries and mushrooms and other forest things you can eat if you're hungry which we always are because we're animals and animals need food to survive which is why we always carry lots of food with us everywhere we go just in case because you never know when you might be hungry or thirsty or lost or attacked by vicious monsters who smell like rotten fish or something else disgusting that humans can enjoy eating while they sit inside their homes singing songs while they eat food off plates with forks and knives instead of using their paws like normal animals who don't live indoors next to humans because that's just silly if you ask me but whatever makes humans happy I guess which is why we're going inside this building made for humans so maybe some humans will be happy when they see us because otherwise why would they want animals in their buildings except maybe for food or clothes or living decorations or something else gross like that because otherwise what's the point? Why would anyone even want an animal in their building except for food? You'd think about making sure your food didn't smell before you ate it unless you wanted your house guests leaving quickly after having dinner which is probably why these humans probably don't let animals into their buildings unless they look pretty which is dumb because nobody cares what an animal looks like except maybe other animals who are also looking at each other before deciding whether or not to attack each other so they can eat each other's flesh which is another thing animals don't do but oh well everything tastes better when it's fresh so whatever *shrugs*
